X Frame in .350 Legend

Finally shot mine today. First cylinder was fine, recoil wasn't an issue at all but it is a "boomer". The only ammo I had with me was older Winchester. Second cylinder and things started to go less well. The moon clips are flimsy and easily bent, causing the cylinder to bind and eventually not close. I had a couple pierced primers and most showed excess chamber pressure signs. Hopefully Smith will come out with better moon clips as these really are substandard. I need to try other ammo as well. Thats all for now.

Order a set of moon clips from TK Custom. .

I can't speak to the 350 Legend but TK Customs moon clips have worked far better than any of the clips that I've received for S&W, Ruger, Taurus or RIA revolvers.

Stick with your Encore! A much better gun than the old Contender, I have both! I just had MGM make me a barrel for an old cartridge to play with! You can pick the barrel length, twist, sight config, and weight. You will be able to get everything possible out of the 350. I have a 460 barrel for my Encore and the speed difference compared to the revolver is unbelievable, Hornady 200gr from the 8 3/8" revolver is 2450fps and the same from my 20" Encore is 2999fps

True! But, if you have a Contender, Mike Bellam makes custom barrels for both the 357 Max and now the 350 Legend are available.

My brother has one of his 20" 357Max barrels and it shoots the same handloads as my CVX Apex at the same speed into five shot 7/8" groups at 100 yards. It's a very compact and handy little carbine.

Goes good with your AR-15 in 350 Legend, or your Henry single shot, or some other bolt action rifle.

I'm not their target audience but I'm sure glad they keep putting out new/different stuff in the firearms world. It's good to have choices ;)

I'd rather they just produce whats already in their catalog, so I can actually buy one vs look at the catalog
