I just bought on Gun Broker.com a NIB S&W XVR 460 Whitetails unlimited . It has a what looks like a Gold emblem of a nice buck on the side and On the bbl it has New Hampshire engraved . Seller says its 1 of a 100 produced . Plus I got it for a awesome low price. So when were these produced ? Are they worth extra bucks ? I plan on shooting this for ever !

I dont know that they have any added value over a regular 460. I avoided the special versions when i bought my 460. It's not like it's a class A engraving. The good news is that it's yours and you plan on shooting it forever. So for that reason value doesn't matter. Enjoy it. I do mine.

I believe there was a model made for each state that had a Whitetails Unlimited chapter in it. I dunno if the quantity changed between the states, but 100 per state is a lot of XVRs regardless. I do know they came out in 2006. Generally they have no higher resale value that a standard XVR, but are a fine deer handgun. Hopefully you reload so you can afford to shoot it and can realize it's potential.

As a general rule, commeratives usually are sold to all that want them and there seem to be some left overs... If you want one as a shooter / keeper, do it but I doubt you will realize a premium.

Scope

Also this one isn't drilled and tap for scope mounts ,is any of them ? Do I need them for mounting a scope on this X frame ? I don't on my Colt Anaconda .

Get a rail manufactured by Jack Weigand - he does great work - it will mount using the rear sight holes, then you can mount any optic you like
