Can anyone tell me how the yellow tool that comes with the SW99 front sight kit is used?
The picture is from MidwayUSA.
I have read different things on what it is used for - some not even related to the front sights, but here it is shown included in a front sight kit in the picture.

I believe you will find that particular "front sight tool" is used to disassemble the magazine for cleaning. :)

I've been wrong before

Barry2 - thanks for the reply. I think you are correct.
I have searched all over and this is the most common answer. Somewhere it said the tool was for driving out the 4mm pin for the backstraps, but I think that is incorrect. Another site said the tool was too flimsy for pushing that roll pin out. I find it interesting that it is included in the front sight kit picture from MidwayUSA.
I recently purchased a used SW99 and it doesn't come with box, manual,"yellow tool", etc. Still trying to learn all I can about these pistols. I thought there would be several SW99 users out here who might know.

Good find on the Walther manual and the plastic tool. ;)

I think the yellow plastic tool got included in the plastic bag with the optional sight posts & wrench because that's how Walther was shipping the loose parts from Germany.

No, it won't work well (and wasn't intended to be used) for removing the grip insert pin. That requires a roll pin punch (although the standard black-handled S&W assembly pin punch tool issued to armorers worked fine, too).

BTW, it requires attention and some caution when replacing the plastic front sight posts, as the pointed metal screw can easily be screwed right up through the new plastic post being installed.

The yellow flat-ended golf tee is used for pushing in the button on the magazine base plate insert in order to disassemble the magazines.

Mec-Gar does, or did, supply the exact same tool with its after-market magazines.
