Is stating they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.

I used to like this company.

Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.

And the stated reason was...?

They haven't publicly given a reason, saying only that they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor.

It's my understanding that Yeti formerly donated its products to the NRA Foundation for its benefits, banquets, and auctions that helped fund the NRA's youth programs.

I'm guessing that Yeti probably sees gun owners and sportsmen who participate in firearms-related activities such as hunting and marksmanship competitions as being a small share of the market for their horribly overpriced and overrated products.

Personally, I've never bought one single Yeti-made product, because every time I've looked at their stuff, the first thing pops into my head is, "They want how much for this thing?"

Most of the competitive brands of insulated cups, ice chests, etc. are just as good as Yeti at 1/3 to 1/2 the Yeti price. I found 30 ounce (not Yeti) insulated cups of stainless steel at, of all places, Joanne's Fabrics (my wife goes there a lot) for $10 each, and we bought two. Essentially the same Yeti-branded cup is over $35. Since then, I have seen very similar 30 ounce insulated SS cups at other places for as little as $7.99. Probably even less than that on eBay. Why anyone with half a brain would buy any Yeti product is beyond me, even without the NRA snub. The Yeti snob appeal is gone insofar as I am concerned.

I will agree that those SS insulated cups are heavy, but OK for use in the car. I don't want to carry them around. I use Whataburger styrofoam drink cups for that. And they are free with the drink. We have one kitchen compartment full of Whataburger cups, lids, and straws.

They're afraid of Milano, Baldwin, Kimmel and the rest of the wacko NoRA coalition out of Hollywood.
I was thinking of filing suit against them for their unethical logo.
Where's PETA when you need them?

I have had a Yeti 65 for about three years. Expensive, for sure. I had a lot of points on a cabelas card. Heavy, absolutely. I load in in my truck and it stays there.
I do a lot of hot weather dove hunting. I do believe that it keeps ice a lot longer.
Given this latest bit of info, I sure wish I had not bought it.

There's no reason to regret your purchase. You bought something that works and you're satisfied with the product.

None of us could have foreseen the events of 2018.

Yeti's corporate decision to no longer be an NRA vendor is an empty gesture done for PR purposes...just like the decision made by Dick's Sporting Goods and other clueless business entities.

We shouldn't allow these like-minded corporations the satisfaction of seeing us turn this molehill into a mountain.

Interestingly I just received the current issue of Bugle, the bimonthly magazine from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. There's an enclosed ad for promoted products, including Yeti.

Memo to Yeti: not all elk hunting is done with archery.

Adding another company to my do-not-support list. Thanks for posting this information, OP.

Nonetheless, we can become aware of who our enemies are, and shop accordingly.

Rtic and Igloo make competitive products are better prices. Walmart sells Ozark Trail products that work as well and are much cheaper.

I have to wonder who Yeti sees as their target demographic if not hunters and other sportsman. Many of whom would likely also be NRA members.

I'd expect to see the space where Yeti would be exhibiting empty next month in Dallas.
