Yeti

UPDATE: Yeti says NRA’s claims are ‘inaccurate’

Do your homework and decide for yourself. I don't believe pretty much anything I read on the net anymore. The rhetoric on BOTH sides is pretty much disgusting at this point.
Regardless of who is right, I will continue to drink out of my Yeti 30 oz and will continue to use my Yeti 40 as they have both long since been bought and I see no reason to piss away perfectly good money. When Smith & Wesson sold out with the lock I certainly didn't throw away my pre lock Smiths to protest, I just didn't buy any Smiths with locks. Y'all need ot tone down the vitriol or there is gonna be some blood vessels gonna burst!!!

And here is the NRA-ILA response;

If it wasn’t bad enough that YETI dropped The NRA Foundation as a client, now they’re calling us liars because we informed our members and friends of their actions.

The NRA Foundation has over 1,100 “Friends of NRA Committees” around the country. These committees host banquets and auctions that are attended by hundreds of thousands of guests each year. These events raise funds to support charitable causes and programs. The NRA Foundation supports the needs of youth programs for education, safety and training, as well as law enforcement needs, shooting ranges and conservation programs.

For many years we have purchased coolers from YETI for our auctions. We have auctioned off many thousands of YETI coolers each year. YETI recently dropped The NRA Foundation as a client. Not only would they not take our orders for more coolers, they forced us to cancel orders already in the system that they said they would not fill.

Three days after we notified you of YETI’s decision to drop The NRA Foundation, YETI issued their prepared statement in which they admit they dropped us but claim they simply eliminated the discount program and dropped other (unnamed) organizations as well. That’s news to us.

Perhaps the people writing YETI’s damage control statements are not talking to the people who enforced YETI’s decisions and refused our orders. We had even offered the YETI Roadie in one of our sponsorship levels for 2018 – which we’ve had to cancel.

We told you the truth.

YETI’s attempts at damage control is to say our statement is not accurate. Shame on you again YETI. You know you made a mistake. A big one. Now you must live with your mistake.

You do not know this as a fact. There is no factual statement from Yeti that they bash the NRA. It is a war pf words between Yeti and what they sent to the NRA

Contrary to popular belief not everyone in the USA is a NRA supporter, just like any other organization

I have been "boycotting" Yeti since they first came on the market as they are too damn expensive.

How many people here are going to now not buy a Yeti? Probably no one as they weren't going to be in the market anyway.

How may have gone out and blown their Yeti up like BUBBA.??
What good does that do? Kinda like the guy that cut his rifle in half. Yeti already has Bubbas money.
Real fine example of gun ownership:rolleyes:

I am more concerned with image that Bubba and the Girls (video, language) portray of NRA members. They are a real fine representation.

Much like the idiots in the TV GUN shows that are now in jail or the idiots on You Tube The do a real disservice to legitimate gun owners,

So no, I could care less about Yeti and their corporate policy.

There are much bigger stakes involved than coolers.

Out of the statements made public, make of it what you will.

But on Monday, just as the backlash and calls for boycott picked up steam, Yeti said in a statement to The Washington Post, also posted on Yeti’s Facebook account, that the NRA letter was “inaccurate.” The Austin-based retailer said it notified various organizations, including the NRA Foundation, that it was eliminating a “group of outdated discounting programs” from which the organizations benefited.
The NRA was not specifically targeted, Yeti said.
“When we notified the NRA Foundation and the other organizations of this change, YETI explained that we were offering them an alternative customization program broadly available to consumers and organizations, including the NRA Foundation,” Yeti said. “These facts directly contradict the inaccurate statement the NRA-ILA distributed on April 20.”

We need an applause button!

..... and the horse they rode in on.

Given the Yeti clarification, my original response (above) might have been a little harsh. Accordingly, I am retracting my earlier statement, replacing it as follows:

..... and the equestrian conveyance upon which they arrived.;)

My response to YETI
I have been following the controversy over your relationship with the NRA, and decided I will no longer buy your product and will do all I can to convince the gun stores in my area to drop your line.

We used to buy your coolers, or encourage our clients to purchase them for our pro hunters to take back to Africa, they would pack their personal items in them and take them back as luggage that will never happen again. We will now promote Pelican.

Please do not contact me as I will not change my mind, you have shown your true colors and its not red, white and blue.

I really can't afford their coolers anyway, so a note from me informing them that I now wouldn't consider buying one would have been a bit disingenuous. But I was seriously just about ready to buy one of their 20-oz. insulated tumblers, which sell for about $30. Thanks to this and other similar threads I instead bought the same thing from Wally World for about $9.50 (had to get the sliding lid separately, so that brought the cost up a bit). I plan to send the $20 bucks I saved to the NRA, and I'll be contacting Yeti to let them know.

why doesn't YET just tell us what other organizations they dropped? What would the NRA motive be for misrepresenting this event. I wasn't in the market for a cooler but I may have to checkout products from pelican, rtic, igloo and maby send a copy of the receipt to YET I. YT?

Drink faster

I never understood spending 20 or 30 dollars on a can koozie to keep a beer cold for up to 3 hours. C'mon people we can put Yeti out of business by drinking faster. I'm doing my part!

Probably about right including tax. Yesterday, the local WalMart had a ton of 30 ounce cups (more than I have seen before) for $8.97 in a variety of colors including plain stainless. Even cheaper than that - a styrofoam drink cup from Schlotzsky's - Much sturdier than cups from other fast food places. should last a long time. I have one I have been using in my car for several months.

In case anyone missed it, here's the NRA's response to the email message Yeti sent out:

YETI severed ties with the NRA and is now engaging in damage control after a backlash from many of its customers. In early March, YETI refused to place a previously-negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing ‘recent events’ as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. YETI then delivered notice to the NRA Foundation that it was terminating a 7-year agreement and demanded that the NRA remove the YETI name and logo from all NRA digital assets, as well as refrain from using any YETI trademarks in future print material. YETI is trying to spin the story otherwise, those are the facts. While Yeti can change their story, but they can’t change the facts. Whether their changing story is due to the recent cancellation of the IPO from their New York City owners is a question only they can answer. — Marion P. Hammer.

But isn't that "hearsay"? Pretty much it is what NRA SAYS Yetti said.

Does anyone actually have a copy or a transcript directly from Yetti as to what they actual told, wrote or emailed NRA??

Was this done via a phone call. e mail, face to face??

I am not defending Yetti in any way, as previously stated I have never had use for their overpriced stuff,

Don't care about Dicks either but their online statement is more harmful than Yetti. Dicks is going anti gun full bore and hoping to influence all the golfers and fitness folks decisions on guns. Yes, they sell YEttis

Not sure who you are talking about when you reference SW?

As for my posting, it comes directly from the NRA:

NRA-ILA | NRA Statement on Yeti

Brain Cramp, I meant NRA not SW.:D

Yes that is the same posting but it from the NRA not a "Quote" from YETTI It is an interpretation by the NRA on what YETTI supposedly told them in some shape or form.

What I am looking for is a copy of the email or letter with perhaps the YETTI logo and signature or did some unnamed source call some unnamed person at the NRA and tell them something?

It really doen't matter, Yetti dumped the NRA but most any large business or organization puts things in writing,

I'd trust the NRA to have the documents to back up what they say. Given how sue-happy Yeti is, I doubt they'd risk making a statement like that w/o the supporting documentation.

Boycott everyone who is anti gun. No yeti products here.

I feel the antis are attracting the problem after the fact. We need 1 800- hot line for troubled people. Let’s face it, don’t let these pimples fester.
