In response to a question regarding the merits/differences between the .224 Valkyrie and the .223 one helpful poster posted
"Bernie, I've been doing some serious research on this round. I have not shot one, but have been watching tons of videos on YouTube about it......"
I bet he stayed at a Holiday Inn too!!

Last time I visited Sportsman Warehouse,
They still had that big pile of 7x64 Ammo.
224 Valceria? Didn't see any.

Valceria?

Sounds like a pharmaceutical.

I thought it was the "undisclosed" medical procedure that Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts was having.

"Yep. I went in for a Valceria three days ago. It was outpatient surgery. They went in through my beunine canal and, let me tell you, it hurt like crazy!!

Best source of information comes from Facebook, I maintain, unless my maintainer is broken.

The question is a valid and very good question that needs to be answered. Surely there are several experts here on S&W forum that can answer it.

Although some information on YT is accurate and helpful, it has also allowed ignorance and misinformation to propagate at the speed of light.

The truth behind the caveat emptor caution has never been more true.
Wow. That's kinda harsh, Dave. I've gotten a lot of good info on Bigfoots, UFOs, and the grassy knoll on YouTube. I'll double check from now on. ;)

I've found some very helpful information on YouTube, but you have to vet it carefully.

I have a Savage 69RXL pump shotgun. When I bought it, I knew it had a couple of problems, but I figured I'd figure them out and fix them eventually.

The first step was to disassemble the gun. Which is where I came to a halt because there was nothing on line about how to do that.

A couple of years went by and I kept checking. Finally, I found a couple of videos that showed how to do the disassembly.

The first featured a kid working on his parents living room rug. His gunsmithing tools were a claw hammer, flat blade screw gun, and a couple of nails for pin punches.

He actually got it disassembled, but watching it was like watching a chimpanzee trying to build a house.

I don't know if he ever got it reassembled because he never put up another video.

The next video was by an amateur gunsmith, but he had a work bench, some proper tools, and apparently had done this before. The video showed me that the key to detail stripping the gun was to remove the stock using a long screw driver up through the butt stock. Sort of like a SMLE.

I used that video to disassemble and reassemble the shotgun several times until I finally figured out what the culprits were. I ended up replacing the bolt slide, ejector, and extractor, again using that video.

The same goes with car repairs. I've found out how to do some fairly simple repairs that looked complicated from carefully watching videos.

Then there are the ones that I swear are remakes of The Three Stooges, they are so dumb.

Caveat video, I guess.
