I have a RN that comes to the house twice a week and the last cold spell she was dressed like she was going to the next ice age. I kidded her about being dressed like Nanook of the north. Had to explain that one to her. Supposed to go down into the low 30's tonight and nanook is coming at 12:30 this afternoon. I still have a couple New York heavy winter coats as a fallback. N3B parka with wolf trim on the hood. and a couple others.I have a couple shirt jackets when the temps start to fall. Frank

When you tell the tour guide that the last time you were on the Queen Mary she was at sea between Southampton and New York. (Did that last weekend.)

The last time that I left The United States, I didn't need a passport to get back in.....
It was bad enough when you drove through the gate of a military installation and the monument was a piece of equipment you crewed in combat...
Imagine how it feels now that the "gate guard" was just entering service when you retired!

That sure happened to me. I've been a stage actor, and I was in a play that was set in the 1930's. So to make my appearance period correct I put some Brylcream in my hair and raised the part. When I looked in the mirror my first thought was, "I just became my own granddad!"

You know your getting old when you discover that you can't recall the details of the most precious events of your life. That fact occurred to me, while sitting in a recliner chair spending a sleepless night, last night. That folks, just scared the "Doololly" out of me, and made me realize what's "Just Around the Corner".

...you ask where everyone in the room was when JFK was shot, then realize none of them were born until decades later.
...your doctor says that you can no longer eat anything that tastes good.
...you realize that none of your parents or grandparents lived as long as you have.
...your kids get A's in history at school because of your first hand accounts.
...your college has demolished all the buildings that you attended classes in.
...your doctor has stopped trying to get you to take most preventative tests, because it "doesn't matter at this point".
...you tell your wife that you are going out to reenact your bachelor party with your friends and she laughs and says see you at 9.
