Im not. People seem to infer things not stated in a document which irritates the **** outta me as it is intellectually dishonest.

Its like saying its our god given right to vote. Some countries dont vote, is the country suppressing their god given right? Is it a god given right to drink? Was it not a god given right for women to vote? Please lets not be dumb about this.

Relax. This thread is steeped heavily in sarcasm. Try giving us a reason or place not to carry that is incredibly sarcastic. You'll feel better if you do. I'll give an example.

We shouldn't carry anywhere because God didn't give us that right.

Total sarcasm. Give it a try. You might like it.:D

If you make a wrong turn in San Diego near the crossing to T.J. you shouldn't.

Now THAT's what I'm talkin' about.

Any of us can get lost or take a wrong turn, accident or road construction detour... whatever.

You should not carry a gun within twenty miles (make that thirty miles if distracted with a cell phone) of any jurisdiction that forbids it. The risk is too great. Leave the gun at home.

This will be referred to as the Shaneen Allen Should Not Carry rule.

Ok guys, I found one of the best reason you should not carry a gun. And this one is even backed up with a statistic!

You should not carry a gun because criminals are more likely to carry a gun if they suspect that victims may also be armed. According to a survey of incarcerated felons by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research, 75% reported carrying a gun while committing a crime because "there's always a chance my victim would be armed."

There ya go boys... you should not carry a gun because criminals don't like it.

Well there ya go, the "science is settled"! :p:p;):D

Aren't 80% of all statistics made up?

Not sure about that.

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research sounds pretty authoritative to me.

Poor criminals. Think of how nervous they must be attacking people who may be armed. Quite insensitive of 2A extremists to put them through so much distress.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it's wrong.

I didn't see anyone mention the recent SC church shooting in which nine people lost their lives. I don't know if it's legal to carry to church in SC but if there had been one profane individual amongst them how many could have been saved?

Why would the individual have to be "profane"?
I am not, yet I (an numerous others) carry every sunday at the church I attend - with he Pastors permission.

Read the opening post. 'Profane' is a supposed opinion of some as to why 'weapons' should be kept out of a place of worship. My firearm is not a 'weapon' as the term 'weapon' suggests offensive use. My firearm is simply a tool and therefore not 'profane' in my opinion. Like I said in my earlier post, if I choose to carry in church, that's between me and my Maker. We are the only two who will know.

Much like the arguments used by detractors of open carry, you should not carry a gun concealed because the mere thought of legal concealed carry frightens too many people.

Please join the overwhelming majority of common sense gun owners who do not carry concealed. This will ease the fear among the general public so we won't jeopardize other gun freedoms.

Southern Illinois University Mar. 10, 2014 poll of Illinois citizens concluded that 52.3% of the public felt less safe following the July 2013 passage of a law allowing citizens to carry concealed handguns in public. A July 2013 peer-reviewed study of 1,649 students at 15 colleges published in the Journal of American College Health stated that 79% would not feel safe if faculty, students, and visitors carried concealed weapons on campus. An Apr. 2010 poll of registered voters across the United States found that 57% feel less safe after learning that concealed guns may lawfully be carried in public. Law Center to Reduce Gun Violence, "Polling on Carrying Concealed Weapons," smartgunlaws.org, Sep. 9, 2012

It's time that 2A concealed carry extremists start looking at the big picture for the good of all gun owners.

I usedto be indecisive about when to carry, now I'm just not sure. Can't be too careful, so I'll just stop altogether.

Please join the overwhelming majority of common sense gun owners who do not carry concealed. Contact your representatives to ban concealed carry. This will ease the fear among the general public so we won't jeopardize other gun freedoms.

Are you suggesting we come out of the closet!?

Guns have feelings too! Let them come "out of the shadows", after all, they're only doing jobs that other tools won't do.

Last night, I heard my 19-2 talking to the Airweight twins, one of the Airweights was in tears. Ashamed at always being hidden, hurt deeply by the unfairness of being feared by so many people....
My Argentinian 1911, old, experienced and well travelled chimed in. He, too, felt the hopelessness and dispair of being forced to live in the shadows of society after coming to where he thought was the land of freedom and hope.
It was truly heartbreaking. Concealed carry is cruel. DON'T DO IT!

Of course not!

Open carry is already on the You Should Not Carry a Gun list.
