Bought a like new in box , square butt , pinned 2in barrel Model 37 Airweight. Bought it for $100 back about 1981. It only show firing rings on 2 or 3 chambers. I fired it a few times and it got lost in my safe till a G/F (nurse) decided it was time to learn to shoot and carry after a few of her collegues got attacked leaving work at night.
For my 27th birthday, my dad bought me a cased 8.375" Model 27-2. (It's been a while!). I still have the revolver. Foe my 44th birthday, he gave me a 8.375" Model 29-3. I still have that one too.
A M-17 bought new in 1974 was not quite 21 yet and had to get my wife to buy it for me! I learned how to shoot a revover by shooting the snot out of it, a lot of squirrel's in the pot too. No pic as I sold it around 1980 to fund my first custom IPSC gun, stupid in retrospect.
This is my first S&W, a model 36 no dash, ca. 1971. It belonged to my dad who was with the Alaska Territorial Police and later with the Alaska Highway Patrol until he retired in 1974. He used a model 15 for carry and bought this one for a back up but hardly used it. Hopefully it will be the last to go at the yard sale when I am gone.
My first S&W was a 629 Bought in the mid 80's. I wanted to go hog hunting with it but never did. But I have had a lot of very good days at the range with it.
