I was 17 and my dad let me purchase A (just one) S&W revolver . I went back and forth between the #19 6" and the #34 Kit gun .
I went with the #19 and reloading and never looked back ! I didn't give up on the #34 and now some 30years ago . I now have a 34/35 hybrid too. I do love the things !

My first Smith was the first hand gun that I purchased. I got it from a Deputy who had purchsed it from the department when they switched over to Sig's. It has some holster wear, but it was in really good shape. Along with the gun I got a duty holster, shoulder holster, 2 safariland speedloaders, speedloader pouches, and some 357 rounds and a box of about 500 38 special rounds for the grand sum total of $265. I had just turned 21, that was in 1995 and I still have the gun today. here she is:
My first was a 4" Model 10 LNIB from a man who bought it for home defense and whose wife decided against keeping it in the home. I paid $15.00 for it in 1967, he had paid $78.00 for it 2 weeks eariler.
Me too!!! Model 27 8 3/8. Fell in love with it at first sight. I was only 17 and didn't have a permit. I paid for it in full and the gunshop owner held it for me. It took me about six months to turn 18 and get my permit. I still have it.
Mine was a 6 inch 686 no dash bought shortly after they came out. I loved that revolver and I really learned to shoot pistols with it. The more I shot it the smoother the action got and I was hooked. I later sold it to a friend during my 1911 procurement days and always regretted it. So two years ago after a olng search I bought a 6 inch 686 no dash off of GB. I will never part with this one and I still love that version of the 686.
Technically, my first S&W was an M&P40. I still shoot it from time to time, but my wheel guns get most of my attention. My first S&W revolver was a 686-5 4".
