Your First S&W

Model 19 4" which I used as a duty weapon as an auxiliary police officer. Later I purchased a Model 60 which were very hard to get in those days. Still have the 60 but sold the 19 and still kicking myself for doing that.

My first Smith & Wesson was a Victory that was reblued and converted to .38 Special by Parker Hale. The cylinder had been bore out and sleeved and rechambered to .38 Special. I was a young Airman 2nd class stationed at Wheelus Field in Tripoli, Lybia and I was making $98.00 a month. I bought it at the Rod and Gun Club sales store. 1962

Not the last, but the oldest. From my sister in 2009 - Smith & Wesson 32 Long revolver (Last patent, Dec. 29, 1914) S/N 262xxx

Model 19 4" in 1971 as duty weapon. Carried it through out my uniform days until 1978 when I switched to non-uniform. The gun got traded but I still have the custom grips which now reside on another Model 19 3". Currently own the a fore mentioned plus a Model 36 and a Model 64-7 4".

A 629-1 purchased new in 85 traded it to pay off a debt as I never shot it, I regretted that immediately. I replaced it about 2 years ago and this one isn't leaving until I do.

Mine was a 442, which I bought about 4 years ago. That's my only S&W so far. But today I bought a Model 14 Classic, which I'll pick up next week. :)

My very first-
Bought in 1981, a nickel Model 10 4" that left the S&W factory
March 22, 1966 according to a letter I got from Mr Jinks way back then.
Don't have the gun any more (but I still have that letter).

That would be my Mothers 1957 Model 15 Combat Masterpiece.
She carried that in her glove box since I can remember.
Target trigger. 4" barrel.
Shoots like a dream.

My first S&W was this little beauty

MY FIRST S&W

my 1st S&W was 1973 model 36 snubnose Detective special
when I got my gold shield. Just sold it in 2009 to purchase a 686 plus 6"bbl. only rec'd $85.00 for it and boy am i sorry I sold it for so little.

Mod 60 bought new in 1972 for $165. That was a 50% premium cause they were so hard to get. Retail was $110. Still got it, and it takes it's turn in the rotation.

My first S&W was a pre 10 with a bulged 6" barrel that my dad gave $100 bucks to a coworker for. That was probably in '91, it just kinda became mine around my 10-11 birthday a couple years later. It became mine alone in '02 when I moved away to go to school. I shot this piece for several years bulged barrel and all, my dad found a Victory barrel that I swapped in but I really need to find a correct one. Anyone have a clue when C64x may have shipped?

Fairly sure it was a Model 27 in .357 Mag I got as a belated college graduation present. Was a fine gun but being short of loose cash, I sold it to buy a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag. I've always been a power junkie so that was a logical step. Don

A new 1006 from my wife on our first Christmas married in 1990. The first wheelie was a 642 in 2006.

My first was a model 13-1. It was my service revolver until I left the force and got into medicine. Still the best wheelgun in my stable.

My first handgun was a 586 6" back in the mid 80's. I had read every magazine around and had to have one. I lusted after that gun. I finally found one at Warshall's in Seattle and grabbed it.

Being young and dumb, I didn't recognize it was well-used. Evidently it had been used in competition as the action had been tuned, charge holes chamfered etc. It was also loose as a goose. It spit lead something fierce.

I took it to a local gunsmith for repair and he sent it off to S&W. They tightened it up, set the barrel back a turn and re-cut the forcing cone; at no cost! It shoots beautifully and won't be sold. Ever.

My first Smith was a Md#37, Paid $127. for it back in 1975.
A great handgun and I still own it ! Still one of my favorites!

My first S&W was a 40 caliber model 410S.

My first S&W revolver was a 6.5" 629-6.
