Your Most Carried S&W

For several decades mine was a early Model 60. Then I finally succumbed to requests from my oldest son to get the Model 60, and gave it to him. I then switched to my Model 59 S&W semiauto and it's been my daily carry gun ever since. I bit bulky, but I do love it, and appreciate the extra number of rounds it holds.

I have a ruger gf32 bi centinal I don't carry anymore. I seen one gf32 that was never in the catalogue without the inscription sell for $750. I figure my 1776 / 1976 model with the inscription is worth more.

What do you do with any manufacturers gun becomes valuable? Funny I been told my ruger bi centinal would never be worth nothing. With the box, paperwork, in s/s in excellent condition I'm thinking about $1,000.

What do you do when the values go up and they become shooters and safe queens? Worth too much to carry.

It's not really much of a choice for me. I only have one small enough to carry. Well, I guess I could carry my 6" 19 in the woods but I haven't been hunting in years... booooohoooo hooooohooo. It is doing bedside duty though and does that well.

So my carry gun is a 442 and has been since 2014. With about a 10 month hiatus while I carried a G26.

I really like the 437 with the bobbed hammer. How do you find the trigger pull in comparison to the 442's?

I have a few thousand dry fires plus who knows how many rounds that smoothed the actions. I like shooting them more than my 36 which has less trigger time. My 37 is pretty good also. The 442s get more use so they are a bit more smooth. None have been made lighter.

1. and 2.--BHP---Carried the most (over 40 years).
3. Ruger Mark 1--used the most--over 200,000 rounds.
Today, now that I am retired, I use my 17-1 the most and carry a 649-2 in my pocket daily.

I have many that I carry fairly regularly, but the most carried are my 627-5 and 640-1.
