Your most formidable handgun

It changes from time to time...but right now it's this one...

I had to go back and take a look at Oldfella's post and see what Karnivore was talking about.

That picture is hilarious.

As of yesterday. My new most formidable pistol! Bought it yesterday and promptly put 300 rounds through it. Sweet Pistol! M&P .45acp. :)

Springfield XDm, 17 rounds of .40 S&W, shoots like Capt. Kirks' phaser:

Little recoil, lots of power. I consider this an "assault pistol."

I think if I had to pick today it would be my 686 mountain gun, I used it for my CCW and did very well with it.

My 5906 with Crimson Trace Grips is probably the handgun that I am most comfortable with for grip, POA to POI. It feels like it was molded to my hand and it seems to aim very naturally. This is why it is my home-defense gun.

It'll be awhile and a special gun that replaces this Beretta as the go to. My first handgun purchase and, 13 years later, still my favorite.

i have a 45 cougar i bought years ago; a little chunky but 9 rds. of 45 in a compact is just right.

glock 10mm

even though i don't go for plastic frame guns, i love the glock 10mm.
have a full size compensated; with 15 rd. mags [wish glock would make 30 rd. ones or drums] it will handle any situation.

I've worn the same 1911 for 18 years. It feels like it's growing out of my right arm when I draw, and the sights come up superimposed on whoever or whatever I'm looking at. I've owned my 4" Model 29 even longer. I don't carry it as often, but it's almost as familiar. I take great comfort in knowing that I have these reliable old friends ready to help if things turn sour.

It's hard to say exactly how formidable they are. You could ask the three knuckleheads who have earned themselves a place in my sight picture over the years, but they were all hauling ass the last time I saw them.
