So, we've got the thread going on the daily grind... let's see the weekend 'fun' rides! :D

Our 'date night' cruiser is a 2011 Miata

Our '92 Miata race car is our 'track toy'

We've had quite a lot of 'fun' cars over the years, but none of them have provided as much enjoyment as we've had out of our little Mazda roadsters. The '92 above was our first, and gradually became a dedicated track car over the years. The 2011 is our 5th, and most recent.

Also lucky to have had several "Fun" cars over the years.

Out of all them a 1999 NB Miata was the most fun to zip around in, wasn't worth a bunch so no pucker factor when the wife or kids jumped in it, should of kept it.

Sore subject for me. I used to take my pick. But haven’t ridden since my back injury and subsequent surgery in 2021.

I'm currently in the process of selling our '99 Miata, for which the 2011 is the replacement. Mine started out as rough but solid automatic trans car. I swapped in a manual drivetrain with a 2001 engine, and did a bunch of other work over the last 7 years. Great car, but not quite as civilized/modern as the 2011.

If I need more then 2 wheels, this is the go-to toy! Admittedly since I started riding bikes this doesn't see much use.

I guess these would qualify as weekend not daily drivers too!

Love that Tacoma! Those might be the ultimate off-road machine. I’ve had 4 over the years. What size is the KLX? Does it have enough power for you?

I just started riding last fall and the KLX was my first bike and I started learning to ride on it. It's a 300 and it is all I need for cruising the trails and dirt roads, at 300 pounds it is pretty nimble and handles easily. My going fast days are behind me!

I simply hate pickemup trucks. I also hate 4-door sedans. I DO require a vehicle that can pull a big boat.

When full perimeter frame autos and big V8s were first being phased out, I "retired" my one-year-old land yacht and made him a dedicated tow car.

Now 44 years old (built on Leap Day 1980), he has never seen a Buffalo Winter snow day. At the launch ramp people are amazed on how a "car" can pull a trailer.

Looks Great!! Spent some time / money on it initially also, all my kids learned how to drive a stick in it and we SCCA Autocrossed it for a few years, awesome time.

Now have a '90 ZR1 and a '96 993 but neither get driven as often as they should.

I had multiple vehicles for a few years, but the insurance, registration and maintenance costs didn't make sense for me. I also don't have room to store them. One vehicle for the Mrs and one for me is enough.

Most of the guys I grew up with rode motorcycles. A few of them are dead and most others had bad crashes. I rode for a few years, but was never comfortable on a bike.

This is my only "NOT Daily Driver". I saddle up every few days! ;)

I admire some of the cars and bikes you guys have, but they're just not in the cards.

Great Miata pictures! I had a 2000 for eight years, bought it in 2010 and sold it in 2018. It was a daily driver and track toy. I put a Flying Miata suspension under it and added a Rotrex centrifugal supercharger and several other engine mods, it dyno'd at 225 wheel horsepower. I miss the car a lot, but I'd still be dumping money in it to make it faster if I still had it. I took my older daughter on an epic road trip to her freshman orientation for college, From western NC to Buffalo New York and back, went up through the mountains and came back through Amish country in Pennsylvania and down the Eastern Shore. Went many weekends to Tail of the Dragon with it and had track days several times at VIR and CMP. Have to post a picture later.

My "non-daily driver" today is a 2-series John Deere tractor, although it seems like I'm on it every day.
