Your opinion of Tetra gun oil please.

I have used all types of oils, lubes and cleaners, and have never had a problem with any of them. Everyone has their preference, and you'll get many different answers. I use Tetra lithium gun grease on my semi-auto rails. Works fine. The oil should be fine, as well. Just use it according to the manufacturer's directions. A little goes a long way. FWIW, not that you asked, I use Breakerfree CLP and it works fine.

I've always been a Break free man too. Love the stuff!

I"ll make it three! Settled on Breakfree CLP as I was tired of going through all the different cleaners and lubes out there.

I've used the TETRA cleaning products for few years and have been satisfied with the oil, spray cleaner/lubricant and the grease which I use on autoloader slides. Have worked well and I would buy again. I see that they are available at Cabela's and a few gun stores. Not as prevalent for sale as most other cleaner/lubricants but still good in my opinion.

I just bought some of the Tetra Gun Grease to try on the rails of a Shield but haven't had a chance to try it out. Being a new gun, I wanted to try plain ole Hoppe's so I'd have something of a reference point. The directions say to work the grease like you would a polish. It contains a fluoropolymer (aka: Teflon) so it's not necessary to leave a lot of visible build up. It's white, by the way.

Have used it since the '90's with a high degree of satisfaction, especially in my M1A Super Match.

I've stated this many times in other posts but most gun oils, solvents and preservatives that have withstood the test of time and have longevity will usually work just fine. Products that do not do what they say and are not cost effective rarely survive the real day test and fade away in short order.

I have had a little tube of Tetra in the past but have never used it and after looking for it today in my "lube cabinet' I have no idea what I did with it. AFAIK it was still factory sealed so I can't help you much as to it's performance. Try it and let us know!

I have used it in the past with no complaints. The local source no longer carries it so I no longer have any. If it were around I would use it again.

I use it on the rails no problems ,and a lite coat on barrel area.

Tetra oil

have used tetra oil for many years. not on the hunting weapons, it has an oder that lasts. before using tetra, function your weapon, listen to the sound and feel the action. after using tetra listen to the sound and feel. as above ^^^^ a little goes a long way. Q tips on friction areas, slide slots and hard to get areas. suggestion, do not apply on plastic/ dot sights as per instructions. on semi rifles, wipe almost dry on bolt/ slides, the excess will blow back and it burns on the exposed areas of skin it lands on, and it is hot!! the best aspect, it makes cleaning the bore easier after your next range visit. I don't use tetra on mags. shake bottle during the cleaning process.
