Your screen name, what does it mean.

Have you seen Blazing Saddles?

-Don't make me do it, I swears I will!-

-More beans, Mr. Taggert? ... I'd say you boys have had enough!-

Feralmerril here cause my name is merril, but go by Bogus Bill on a couple of other gun sites.

Just a fan of the lowly .38 calibre.

A reference to my favorite revolver : a 686+ Mountain Gun with night sights, full moon clips and trigger job. It doesn't get any better.

Mine stands for Barrington M. Harsh the Third. Not my real name, but a nickname given to me by an old friend. He thought I needed a snooty moniker... I call him Esquire.

I would hope mine is self explanatory. If not see below.

I owned a pair of Ruger AC-556’s. One was a factory folder, the other was a full size stock model. Sold them a few years ago to help make a down payment on a house. They were a lot of fun to shoot. But damn, they sure did eat a lot! I've been using the same handle/screen name for the auction sites and forums for several years.

Class III

First service weapon was a 65. Still be carrying it if they'd let me! (Also had a department-issued 57 for a while... wish I still had it.)

When I first joined it represented my aquisitions of the 10mm, having 6 in autos and one 3" 610. Since then I aquired one more, Kimber 10mm, so I sign myself out as 8tenz. I like the 44 mag and 357 sig too, but I don't have them in tose #'s.

It was influenced by a story when I lived in the Texas panhandle where a man lost his ranch in a poker game on a bluff. Was only holding 4 sixes, hence the winner named his new ranch "Four-Sixes".

One of my all-too-many other hobbies is model trains. Specifically, G-scale trains made by the German company LGB - whose logo was an Austrian 0-4-0 meter gauge steam switcher - known as a 'Stainz'. I say 'was' - past tense - because they, who began in the late 1800's as Lehmann, went bankrupt 9/07 and were bought out by the even older German toy company of Marklin GMBH. They had been around making toys for 150yr - and filed bankruptsy as of 2/2/09. So much for spare parts! Yeah, it's a 'global economy' - and a global recession!

Someone, in another forum, once asked if it had to do with a stout young intern's blue dress... that may be a better story!

I am 67 but when I wanted to register here I was trying to think of a name and for some reason I remembered that when I was little my dad would call me "Tops". Larry
