You're a snubbie fanboy when...

Here's a few more.

*You have carried a j-frame OWB.

*You know the velocity of all the different major brands of SD ammo out of a 1.87-2.5" barrel.

*You show off at the range by hitting the 100 yard gong with your snubbie when the tacticool guys show up.

*You know the difference between a model 10 and a model 19.

*You have ever watched a movie despite the fact that you knew nothing about it, just because there was a snubbie on the cover.

I'll have to get a snubby family portrait done. But I swear if there was never another thread created on this forum, I could forever stay right here in this thread and never desire another revolver thread ever again!

Did I yet mention snubby revolvers are my favorite of all? ;)

I guess I qualify in #1 with eleven 2 inchers in models 10, 13, 19, 36, 37 and 60. And #6. Goes up 16 if you what to include 3 inchers. But, I don't know if I qualify in this section since only one is post 1980.

It doesn't matter when they were made, I just put it in this section because it's the revolver section that I'm in the most.

Guilty as charged and a few of the extras although proud to say I have never cut a hammer spur. Thought about it though.

Glad to hear you never cut the spur. Proud of you. I thought about what it would be like to own one, but I would have to buy it that way, I would never do it myself. I did see a no dash, RB blued Chief's Special for a fair price and it was beat up bad, had the hammer spur bobbed. Worst of all, it not only didn't have the original magnas, it didn't have any magnas at all. Oversized rubber grips with built in Lazer (barf!) but a used beat up pair to go along with the gun wouldn't cost much. Haven't pulled the trigger yet (pun intended) but u figure it would make a good carry gun since I wouldn't care if anything happened to it. You can still cock it for single action if needed, just not quickly, but I do like that that is an option. Still pondering.....

True, bobbing the hammer on a Smith is blasphemous, but I did trim the hammer of a Ruger SP-101 I had modified to DAO, so I could pull the hammer back to check the cylinder for rotation.

I feel like such an underachiever in this group. My two snubbies (60 and 66) just don't stack up to the awesome collections being posted by some of you guys. More power to ya! Long live snubbies!

Since it was resurrected...

I'll play.

Hello, my name's Bob, and I have a snubbie problem. Please don't offer; I already have too many sponsors!

19 Chiefs Specials ('52 - '99, but four have 3" barrels; one of my '52s has a bobbed hammer and partial Fitz -- get over it!)

6 Centennials ('55 - '16, none with an IL)

4 .32s (HE and RP)

1 460ES

I'll start with K-frames one of these days, I promise.

Slàinte,

Bob

I only have two myself; my carry and a Taurus .44Spl (a 'bulldog'?). I do want to get another .38 snub for a backup carry.

I feel small and inadequate. I only have 2. Partially because of my rifle addiction. Partially because it took me 3 tries before i figuered out that
FOR ME, 3 inch barrels are not snubbies and they had to go.

Mine aren't pretty but I carry and shoot them. I pick Two daily. A 442 is always in my pocket and one of the others is AIWB

That list seem's to describe me pretty well. I own a multitude of snub nose revolvers. Over the course of my twenty years on the job I have carried a few 36's, as well as a 60-7, 442-1, 640ND, and a Detective Special. I've also carried the 3" 13-3 and GP-100. My current working guns are a 340, 64-2 snub, and a SP-101.

In the past I also owned two .45 Colt snubs, a Taurus Model 450 and a Ruger Alaskan. At some point I will get a 625 3" in .45 Colt. I regret not buying a 696 when I had the chance. I also regret not buying the Colt Magnum Carry.
