I am awaiting a new to me 625-6 in .45 Long Colt. So far the only speed loaders I can find that will work are the HKS 25-5. Are there any others?

Any of the speed loaders for N frame 44 mags should also work with the 45 colt. Most importantly the 45 colt and 44 mag run the same rim diameter. I sometimes run HKS 29 loaders on my model 25s and 625 colts even though I have some 25 loaders. Never had a problem with doing so. In fact I keep them all in the same container.

The body of the 45 colt case is slightly larger. .480 vs .457.
IF another brands 29 loader does not work because the knob won't turn all the way to lock the cases in, it would be because the tooth that catches rim won't go past the body, simply disassemble and file off .011 of each tip. That is the difference in the radius of a 44 mag and a 45 colt case. Probably 1/2 that much will work.

I'm a fan of .45 Colt myself. I've not been able to get away from the HKS twist stem type speed loaders. The only non-HKS alternative I know of is 5 Star Firearms. They make a pretty cool aluminum one and some really neat loading blocks. I've got a couple for my 625. I had a couple 5 Star speedloaders and a loading block for my Ruger LCRx .22 LR as well. They worked well, and looked great. They seem better made, and may arguably be more durable, though that's not a passionate debate I'd care to partake of. Still twist stem, but...we take what we can get, eh?

Which 5 Star model do you have? I didn't see one for a 625 on their site.
