Best 9 mm !

Depends on what you like. If you want a very classy gun get a Dan Wesson 1911. If you want a good shooter get a S&W M&P9. BTW, if you get a 1911 in 9mm, I believe with a few parts it can be made to handle .38 super.

I recently picked up a Wilson Combat CQB compact 9mm for under $2500. It is the ultimate semi-auto for accuracy and dependability. I doubt if you will find one in your short time frame for that price. I also have a H&K P30 that is a dandy and one of my favorites. The ONLY thing that could be better is the trigger, but it is very accurate and I have never had a mal-function with the several type of ammo used. Just my 2 cents.

Another vote for the Beretta 92FS. It is accurate, reliable, and a joy to shoot. I sold mine off to buy a Colt Enhanced Stainless Government Model 1911 in the mid-1990s. Both are big clunky pistols but the Colt rounded out my collection. I still have the Glock 19 I had at the time as my example of a small light reliable Wonder Nine, and for use in case of Zombie attack.

Reading comprehension and current events don't seem to be a strong suit here . . . .

Most are so anxious to sound knowledgeable and push their favorite prejudice of brand they are recommending guns that will be illegal where the man is moving.

Of course, unless you think 7 round magazines for Beretta 92's and the like are going to be in use anytime soon. Big clunky pistols that can only carry 7 rounds aren't likely to be much in demand, but I could be wrong . . .

I haven't fired just every 9mm that ever was. But I have fired a bunch and my very all time favorite is my Glock 17. Colse to 10K rounds through it and not one problem. Very accurate.

If you are wanting something to CCW I suggest the Glock 19. It is somewhat easier to conceal and aside from a smaller ammo capacity has all the great quality and accuracy of it's big brother, the 17.

I really like my Sig P239.
Accurate, dependable and compact enough for everyday carry.
Plus you're already familiar with the Sig system, so there won't be any learning curve.

READ THE MAN'S POST! He can't spell for sour grapes, but makes it plain that he's MOVING TO LONG ISLAND AND WANTS THIS GUN FOR TARGET SHOOTING!

He will probably not be able to get a carry permit, maybe not even what those danged people up there call a premises pemit.

Suggesting a SIG P-239 or a Glock 19 or a Browning GP-35 does not fill HIS needs.

I suggest that he forego a 9mm, most of which have larger mag. capacities than is now allowed in NY state. I think he needs a K-38/M-14 S&W in .38 Special, and it MAY be easier to get a .38 target revolver registered and licensed than if he applies for a 9mm.

If the lust for an auto is insatiable, the logical choice is a Colt Gold Cup .45. Seven-round magazine. Get it? Also, adjustable target sights. I'd sure get one in stainless, too, living on an island.

Save your money and buy a Glock 34 (9mm) and a few extra magazines. It is a accurate as probably 98% of shooters, cheap, reliable.

I see that you edited your semi-literate original post. Yes, shorter is better.

Yes, this post is better. But it probably isn't as good as blackberry pie with a cup of really good coffee.

Look: if you are serious about getting a 9mm target pistol, try to find the funds for a SIG P-210. But I think the mag. holds eight rounds. That's one more than Emperor Cuomo says that you can now own.
