let's see 'em

Inspired by a recommendation from forum member JaPes in the liking hammer thread.

I've had three CZs....one an original B from when only GIs in Germany could get them at the PX and two Tanfoglios. I sold them all.

For some reason I just can't shoot that gun worth a damn. I'd take my BHP and a darn Taurus pt99 along with one of the three (I owned the CZs sequentially, not all at one time) and I'd shoot the other two okay and be spraying the CZ all over the paper.

So I'd sell it. Felt guilty and got another. Spray and sell...repeat....and then I got some Sigs, got a real Beretta instead of the Taurus and have sworn off CZs forever.

But they are sweet looking guns....hmmmmm, I wonder.....

Oddly I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I've had a P226 for about six years and shoot it well. I recently bought a CZ 75BD because I've never had one. Out of the box I shoot the CZ better than the P226. The CZ's grips and feel is better to me than the Sig and I think that's the difference.

Just bought another CZ today. CZ 75 P07 is on sale for $399 right now, couldn't say no :D

The only CZ I own is a CZ-453 American in 22 LR. IMHO there is no better .22 LR Bolt Gun made today (although sadly the 453 American has been discontinued for several years now). With its shingle set trigger it is capable at 1/4" one hole groups (bench rested) at 75 feet time after time. One of my shooting buddies is a 22 rifle "junkie" and has many Anshutz, Cooper, Kimber America, Old Winchester's and Remington's but while some are great rifles, none equal the accuracy of the $500 CZ with my Leupold Rimfire Ultra-light 3-9 x 33 scope with EFR. LOVE IT!!

I was NEVER a "clone" type of guy. If I want something I always get the original. Never owned any CZ pistols.

I have an Tanfoio Witness Single Comp that has run flawlessly for me It shoots well. My only very minor complaint is that it shoots to POA and I hold at 6 o'clock so it prints low. I could file the sights but why bother?

Why buy a CZ clone when the real thing is so reasonably priced?

Thanks guys. I am just considering getting into a compact, hammer fired, 9mm, with a frame mounted safety/decocker. It seems like their are a lot of options and variety in the CZ/CZ clone offerings?

Yeah, I am quickly discovering that. Except for the omega CZs
For my compact carry, I didn't want a safety at all or a rail, and chose a PCR. But there was also the P-01, P-06, SDP, and the P-01 Omega you mentioned, that have frame mounted decockers. Have not seen any clones yet with them.

I have a Tanfoglio TZ-75 that I bought about 15 years ago. Very accurate and pretty good trigger, both DA and SA. Unfortunately a previous owner tried to clean the chamber with a steel brush and gouged it pretty good. I could never get a full mag through it without a FTE. I finally bought a CZ75 barrel for it and fitted it to this gun. I had to do a bit of surgery to the slide frame. TZ 75's have a extra bit up by the dust cover that fits in grooves cut into the corners of the barrel around the chamber. I removed those bits since the CZ barrel does not have the grooves. It goes to the range next week with several other guns to test.

I have several cZs including two Compacts for EDC. Picked up a Tristar C100 and its lightweight frame makes a difference at the end of the day.

I have a Baby Desert Eagle in 9mm. Accurate, almost no recoil (40oz + loaded) and you can beat somebody to death (and probably his horse, too) and never damage the thing. Think of it as an Israeli Ruger.

I love my CZ clones, though I only own high end models.

The Sphinx 2000 is, in my opinion, one of the finest pistols ever to be produced. I've got a couple. These are handbuilt pistols and nothing like the more recent SDP production guns.

I own several CZs, to include the higher end models. They don't come close to the custom pistols Sphinx used to build.

Here's one of mine. Its an AT 2000S with the Palladium finish on the and a stainless frame.

Just to give you a perspective of the size of the Rami, I took some quick pics up against my Glock 26. For me I much prefer my Rami to my G26. For roughly the same cost, your getting a much better quality gun. I have both so no biased opinion, just my 2c.

Aren't CZ's clones themselves, as are SIG's and others of the same ilk? The Browning Hi Power is the mother of them all.
