Nice!.....I collect autos as well, some with locks and some without, always kind of leary about carrying one without a lock....how about you..............................M*

Can't carry autos in this state (Thanks Hollywood..) but I do enjoy them around the property/shop etc. This is my Pro-Tec Godson I keep handy. Very sharp!

I am really impressed with Pro-Tecs quality especially at their price point. (hey...almost a pun..sorta..sideways.)

Cool topic. When I got hired in 1997, my first “legal” auto knife was a Benchmade Auto Spike. I followed that up some of the original MOD autos (still have a couple Triton OTFs) and a 2003 Microtech HALO III and a 2010 Scarab.

Automatic Knives are illegal for carry in my state, (although spring assisted knives aren't, figure that out...) but just as well, I prefer manual operations because there's less to go wrong.

I actually don't own any automatic knives at this time, although I would like to own a stiletto switchblade, but I have no idea where to turn for one that's actually good when there are so many cheap ones out there, and all the good ones I've seen deviate too far from the classic design for my taste.

Here are two sources for quality all things knives; Blade HQ and Blade OPS

Acquired my first one today in a trade. New Benchmade Autocrat. Cool knife. My arthritic old thumb struggles with initiating the retraction. But I like it anyway.

Some beautiful knives!!!

This is the only auto-knife I own. I've posted it before...a 1920 Schrade "safety button" knife given to me by a good friend. I use it almost daily and it's still in great shape.:)

Very nice collection indeed. Recently added the new Sog Trident AT-XR spring assist to my EDC collection. Beefed up version of the older Trident model with better D-2 and steel liners. Blade propels with authority! Have not had a collection since I was a kid way back. Plenty to choose from and a lot sturdier built since then.

When Michigan legalized autos a few years ago it cost me a lot of money! :(
The only thing not allowed is an OTF with a spear point. Given the various profiles available out there it doesn't make a lot of sense but that's the politicians for you.
I carry one every day and rotate them as necessary.
Why they waited so long also made no sense given how fast some of the flipper designs and spring assisted models deploy the blade.

I meant manufacturers. Stilettos Switchblades are extremely common, but I don't know of any quality manufacturers who make classic style Stiletto Switchblades.
