Chiappa CBR 9 thoughts

Chiappa to me is synonymous with junk. I’ve had several of their products on trade only. I would never buy one. Their 19911 22 is terrible. That is first experience with them. I know guy had it for a short time and he wanted a German SA I had. I traded him even thinking I made a score.
Wouldn’t go through mag without jamming. I had 2 other Chiappas and both handguns and both junk.

To my knowledge Chiappa doesn't make anything. They are a private label importer. As such, some are good and some are less than good. At one time they stamped their name on some of Girsan products. I have one of those and it's an excellent pistol. I try to figure out who really makes the item in question and go from there.

Last one that sold on GB.

I'd look at the CZ S2 EVO. Like Chad said, their a lot of fun. Never had a problem with mine using cheap 115 grain.

Now that we have activated the Chiappa Folks,
What do you know about this one?

All I know about that one is it's Italian made, and I want one. The Beretta mags are a tip-off. I'm confused about who makes it but for some reason I see the "Legacy Sports" and "Citadel" names attached to the U.S. versions sometimes and I'm wondering if Chiappa is actually making this one. They've taken some time getting production rolling. I hope it's a winner. Generally speaking the Italian stuff is pretty good. If it was made in this century.

My thought was that this is now illegal I'd hate to own one and then find out I need to get a stamp. Did some more research and decided nah....tain't for this fat boy

I have one that I wish I hadn't bought! It fails to eject about 5 to 7 rounds every mag. I have sent it to the factory and it stills stove pipes most of the time. I had a local trusted gunsmith look into it with a better result but still malfunctions too often to rely on. This may be a one off but I'll never buy another Chiappa weapon. Good luck if you purchase one. I bought a Smith and Wesson FPC and love it.

They just seem like gimmicky range toys that look cool and are useless without the happy switch. These were meant to be full auto while being easy to control. Now they're just cool looking oversized and over weight handguns that do nothing to add to lethality. Don't get me started on those $1600 +/- MP5 clones....

Full disclosure, I own a $900+ CZ Scorpion carbine.
