I know I'm about to get blasted, but this is the lounge, so here goes;

Is anyone else tired of?;

-Some of the STUPID questions asked on the forum?
(and yes there are stupid questions, I 've asked a few in my day)

-People asking the same questions over and over when the answer has been given numerous times in relatively recent threads?

-Some of the outlandish "facts" stated based on no evidence whatsoever?
My favorite lately: "all guns go through this (deleted so as not to identify the poster) before they can leave the factory. HUH?

-A lot of posters ooohh and ahhh over a very nice, but very common gun?

-A poster with almost no posts, states " Nice gun, if you want to sell it, put ME on the top of the list" ?

I'm sure there are other things to add to the above, so please feel free.

This should be fun (well sort of)

On every forum youre going to have the kind of things you mention. Its a forum for newbies and for seasoned gun owners... I dislike complainers, but I dont post on here saying such.... Life is too short to be worrying about what the next guy/girl is doing. This is here to learn, for people that love guns, to make new "friends" and to have a few laughs here and there. Not everyone is going to agree........ thats forums, thats life.

And...

If youve asked them, how can you be upset with others?!:rolleyes:

This is just common courtesy. It is a way of sharing in the happines that someone has when they get a new (to them) gun. Kinda like saying "what a cute baby... he has your eyes!!!" when the kid looks like every other baby on the planet. It's just the nice thing to do.

Interesting. Almost word for word what I posted on a fellows 686 CS-1 thread.

Yes, I realize I have "almost no posts":eek:.

Should I have waited a year or two and increased my post count before I ask that again? Should I not put "ME" in caps (don't think I did, but I'm not certain)? Should I have requested to be put somewhere towards the middle of the list? Perhaps I shouldn't have commented on my perceived view of the gun's aesthetics?:confused:

I guess what I'm missing here is exactly what you are *****ing about??:rolleyes:

Some of us have been collecting for many years. Yet we still enjoy the hunt and find. We also help to praise our fellow collectors no matter if young or old in the finding of these treasures.

What I enjoy is seeing a new guy just into S&W's finding say a 90+% Pre Model 10 at a show. He's just jumping up and down. Why would you rain on his parade? He may have had a crappy week, trouble in his life. Finding that make's it go away for a short time.

Why can't we all enjoy in the joy of our fellow collectors and enthusiast.

Besides is any question when you deal with these items too stupid? Perhaps a new guy may find the thread and learn something.

Agreed....It's like complementing a guy's wife instead of saying she's the ugliest thing since warts on a hog. I can't tell you the times I've oohhed and ahhed over a newborn that looks like a chimpanzee. :D
I've got a good feelin' about this thread ;).................

I'm tired of SB2009.

I'm also tired of more and more political rants making their way into the Lounge since the "Political" section was turned into the 2A section. One reason I stayed out of the old Political section was to avoid aforementioned rants.

Personally I will read any post about a new found model 10,,, I guess that no matter what they look like, I need to see them! OK I am odd !!! And I know it.....

That reminds me. I just picked up this Model 36 last week from a retired LEO. He told me it had been his BUG for more than thirty years. He was asking $450, but I talked him down to $425. I know it has a little wear on the finish, but it seems to be tight.

Did I do good?

Peter your not odd. Most of us like anything S&W. With the exception of the "lock"!! Man there it goes I went and done it.. Twisted up the thread.
