M&P-15 22 Accessories

I ordered my sling from slingsonly.com part # fga-m4ts. It attaches to the front and back with a nylon cord and it seems to be working. You might take a look at it.

How exactly did you attach your sling & where at on the front? I saw your post and bought one. I am new to this style rifle, but I already like it. Could you maybe post a pic showing it. Thanks

ive seen some sling attachment adapters online, that go on the front bottom rail, but that little thing cost 35 bucks!!! so i'll stick with the one point when i find one i like.

Yes, I have a flash suppressor installed on my 15-22.

Where did you find a flash suppressor for your M&P 15-22? The barrels aren't threaded (unless you had the barrel threaded at a machine shop?)

I love mine but it looks completely naked and kind of ugly with the barrel sticking out with nothing there. I'd love to know where or how you found one to fit your rifle?

So please enlighten me (I've looked and found nadda) and help me shorten my search for the greatly needed flash suppressor? For my barrel is naked without one. And you know no-one wants to get thrown in the clink for a naked barrel.

I agree, the barrel looks naked without something on the end. I bought a flash suppressor at a local gun show and had Olde English Outfitters gunsmith in Tipp City OH install it for me. Wasn't cheap, but the job turnaround was about a week and the job was well done. If interested Google them, and if you call ask for Andrew. He knows what is involved in getting the job done.

Cost for threading was ~$80.00 plus the suppressor and crush washer were ~$10.00. IIRC the threads are 1/2 X 28. Anyhow, the threads will allow the use of either fake or real can attachment.

No promises, but I'll try to post a pic sometime this weekend.

trf, I ran the nylon cord thru 2 holes in the hand gaurd. It will be tomorrow before I can get pics of it.

27 Beck, I appreciate your quick response. I was afraid you were going to say you had the barrel threaded. My only fear doing that is the warranty right now. If I had the barrel threaded and then had some warranty issue, I wonder if that would give S&W a way out of honoring their commitment?
Being I just took it out for it's first spin yesterday I might wait until I'm satisfied the rifle is fairly solid before having the threads cut into it.

I'd love to see a picture of yours, it might even motivate me into getting it done quicker? I had several people asking if this was indeed the M&P .22 everyone has been talking about? When I told them yes, they started talking like they were going to the local gun shop and ordering one for them-self. But one did point out the barrel was naked looking (go figure) without something on the end? I told him I'd seen one with a fake suppressor can on the end, but I wanted a flash hider on mine. The general consensus was they loved the rifle.

Hi Dan, I would suggest you go to OpticsPlanet.com
They have a break-down of the different scopes and what different terms mean to you as a buyer. Go to the Menu and scroll down to Hunting. Click on Scopes.

At the top of the page across the top you'll see what I was talking about as far as different types of scopes go. It will show you Brand, Price, Use, and related items. This way you can figure out exactly what fits your needs.

One nice thing about this site is if you purchase more that $40.00 worth of their merchandise it's shipped free. Plus I have looked other places and have (usually) found they are right in at the lower end of the price range for different items I've looked at. So they are as low or lower than most I've seen. When I did find someone lower? They charged shipping which brought the price up to Optics Planet.

I don't work for them nor do I own stock in OP. I just buy from them occasionally. And once you read all of the info they give you about the different types scopes on the market..... You'll be able an informed buyer who can tell people what you purchased, but also be able to tell them why you did, and how it works.......Good Luck

for the money, you can't beat the vortex strikefire or primary arms.

I don't know what you may have in mind for a red dot site, but I purchased a basic Tasco Red Dot BKRD30 (1x30) at my local Walmart for $35. Fits great with no additional mounting brackets needed. I've used a Tasco red dot on my Buckmark pistol for several years now with out any problems, so I'd say they are of decent quality.

Thanks for recommendations. My 16 year old daughter and I just started shooting it at a 75" indoor range. She seems to really be into it, so I thought I would add a site to make it more fun. We plan on joining a club Monday night which offers a 100 and 300 outdoor range.

Thanks for the link to optics planet. Being new to rifle shooting I was severly under-knowledged in scopes. It was great to read in dummy terms and get some ideas about what to put on my M&P 15-22

I can see S&W denying warranty coverage if the end of the barrel split or otherwise failed. They would be justified in the denial. But anything else on the gun that failed I would expect them to take care of the problem with no questions asked. Misuse and neglect of course excluded from coverage.

Agree. I had both the strikefire and primary arms. I returned the strikefire. Just felt the primary arms was as good as strikefire for less $$$.

I put a Primary Arms M4 Style Red Dot - $89.00 + shipping - on mine and am very satisfied with it. Appears to be well made, very easy to install, easy to zero in. Seems to be holding adjustments very well.

You bring up a good point. I myself purchased a Tasco Red Dot from Walmart with the idea of installing it on one of my rifles. Because I ended up buying three of the same 3-9X42 Scopes for the rifles I still have the Red Dot sitting idle.

My question for you is after you adjusted the Red Dot on your pistol. Do you really believe it made the pistol quite a bit more accurate? And if so, how far away from any target do you normally shoot from?

The reason I'm asking is I've never added any kind of a scope to any of the pistols I have. If you say the pistol scope combination is much better than the factory sights? I'm going to give it a try. At this point what do I really have to loose? I mean I already have the scope and also have one or two of my pistols that a scope can be mounted on.

Thanks for bringing this up. Even though I've seen many gun related programs showing the pistol/scope combination. I just never really gave it any thought until I saw what you wrote.
