This Hy-Hunter. My only defense is that it was Charlie's boyhood gun and his uncle had it squirreled away for many years, Charlie only recently getting it back.

Off brand? Maybe. But ugly?! This Remington was a very sleek little gun. My dad had one in .380 and made a nice holster for it. It got traded away in the 60's. I've had my eye out for one ever since. And I know where one is for $450. A little high I think.

Don't destroy it! Wait until your local Libs decide to put on a gun buy-back, then allow them to do the dirty work. Some recently have been up to $100 on handguns. Besides, the money can be spent on ammo or for a better gun, or just groceries or a nice meal out. Just hold on to it, the time will come for it to be moved along. Nothing better than allowing anti-gun types to pay you.

Yeah don't destroy it, not sure if they will do it again, but I know a couple months ago Sig Sauer offered $200 in their "cash for clunkers" program.

Have these ugly ducklings as my Cowboy guns.
Shoots great thou, did the work myself

And no worries, they'r italian clones :o

I've got a Llama .32 acp like the one on page 1. Nickle, with impressed "engraving". Probably too shiny to photograph.

Also have a LNIB Stoeger .22 Luger!!!

FN in MT

Well, this one is ugly, finish challenged, and slow to reload,

Bodeo_1.jpg

but it's built like a tank, it's accurate, and the cartridge is roughly equivalent to the .44 Russian.

The biggest problem is the dearth of 10.4mm Italian Ordinance ammunition at the local Walmart. :D

Any of you other guys have an ugly off-brand handgun or two?

New England Firearms, 9-shot .22.

Llama .32 ACP

The Nagant. Double action revolver that loads and unloads like a SAA - only slower. With a twenty pound trigger pull.

Any idea when that Bodeo was made? I know the Itialian Military was still using them in WWII. I think that when Mussolini "just hung around that Milan garage", a lady fired one into him.

A JC Higgins .22. By Hi'Standard. I shot at a turkey 25 ft. away out a car window. Turkey walked away laughing.

I used to shoot in an indoor bullseye pistol league in the 70's and 80's. An elderly (to me at the time!) gent came in one nite and asked to join. He was signed up and placed on a team. His pistol was one of these with the H/Standard brand name on it.
Lots of snickers & rolling of the eyes from the crowd as he stepped to the line with his new team to shoot his first relay.

After it was done and his 290+ score was posted,,there wasn't much to talk about,,just questions like,,who are you?!.

He was Navy Vet that had done extensive pistol match shooting including Camp Perry in his day. Just one of those types that could shoot anything well. He placed in the top 10 shooters for the season that year.
He shot a H/Standard target auto most of the other times. A Ruger once in a while.
After one season we never saw him again.
