That's not that bad! i think i paid like 430 for mine (without flash hider).
If you have the money, i would go ahead and make the purchase.

alrighty! thanks, i had seen someone on trade here advertising the gun (w/o flash hider) for 389.99 so i couldnt see paying 70 dollars for a flash hider. but thank you, sounds good hopefully i can be the next guy on here with pics. ;)

FWIW there was a guy at the shop talking about how amazing the SIG 522 is. blah maybe i will get both, compare, sale whichever i like the least.

I paid 439 before tax in October (No flash hider). Somewhere between 399 and 450 is what I have been seeing.

I got mine for like $460.00 out the door. I'd say go for it. Unless you find something cheaper.

439 cabela's w/out supressor. isn't the one with the flash suppressor the new model? and if so would it have the updates people refer to that occur when you send your broken one back to s&w? if it is and had i known i woulda bought it at the gun show for 459. hell, i'd pay 475 right now for a working one.

These are about $375 (maybe less) direct from S&W with your military ID or police credentials.

If they'll sell direct to you for that price your "local dealer" is making a handy profit at anything over $400. Don't be afraid to haggle. And to walk away is that doesn't work. ;)

375 with the compensator? my dealer sells to me at 10% over his price usually. i may have to haggle if that is the case

I must have got taken

i paid $533.93 for mine out the door here in pittsburgh from gander, of course they did take it back for a full refund and then i purchased another one of the newer lot.dsx****,pghrich

I expect to be paid at work... I'm sure the local business owner does as well. They need to pay to run the lights, the water, the heat, the employees etc.

I think I did ok on mine... I didn't even try to haggle because I was "ok" with the price I paid.

You can always make a cash donation to your "local dealer" if you feel the need. ;)

Local gun shops aren't providing any services to me I'm aware of to make me want to pay premium prices.

Gunshops have overhead costs that need to be paid. When there's no more "mom and pop" shops because we want to squeeze the last penny out of their profits, where will we buy our guns from?
I find gunowners to be amongst the cheapest people on the face of the Earth. When buying they want the seller to practically give them the gun, when selling they want top dollar for their "stuff". They want it both ways.
I see this all the time.
Good for Brett, and those like him.

I figured it like this.... MSRP was higher than what I paid and Smith actually raised MSRP because they know the "market will bear" it... It's an AR platform, buy buy buy!

I am not saying I didn't shop around... But I didn't even consider the internet (and I buy most everything off the net) but I'll buy my guns in person..

dont confuse me with wanting to shop around and wondering if im getting a fair deal with me being a cheap skate. i shop exclusively at this dealer's store, have donated brass to him because i know he reloads his own ammo, and i have dropped about 3k in there in the past 2 years. i trust him but was wondering what others were paying because this price seemed a little high to me. apparently its not as high as i thought and i believe now after being more informed im going to make the deal. he charges 10% over his price most of the time (ive found this to be true) and was making sure i was getting it this time. pretty straight forward guy that considers me a friend and i consider him the same, but sometimes a red flag is raised and it is better to check it out. I hope your post wasnt directed at me because i am probably the biggest supporter of local market around my area. I live in a town of about 2000 people and our mom and pop shops are all that we have.
