no, no....was a general statement, not directed at you. sorry if you took offense. i'm glad you support your local gunshop, that was the gist of my statement, keeping them in business.

Gunshops have overhead costs that need to be paid. When there's no more "mom and pop" shops because we want to squeeze the last penny out of their profits, where will we buy our guns from?
I find gunowners to be amongst the cheapest people on the face of the Earth. When buying they want the seller to practically give them the gun, when selling they want top dollar for their "stuff". They want it both ways.
I see this all the time.
Good for Brett, and those like him.

+1. I have posted a couple rants similar to the above.

ahh no problem, hard to tell what people mean over a forum sometimes, im actually glad to see another local gunshop supporter out there. One of the best things about the man i deal with is that if you find a better price, he gives you store credit on the item. OR if HE finds a better price, he will direct you there. I do a lot of bow hunting/shooting and he has helped me out so much with technique i should be paying him for it.

local gun shop at the range i shoot had it listed for 499.00. i was considering going in and talking to him about the fact the big shop had it for 439 and the week before the other big shop had it for 429 on sale. bein a noob in this area it has been my experience that gun shops typically don't care to cater to a novice as much as you would hope. case in point, i went into another shop inquiring about .22s and asked for two specific models - S&W15-22 and the Beretta Neos. the response i got back was a sneer "you sure like them .22s don't you?" i kindly agreed and walked out feeling emasculated

No kidding! Im in santa barbara and all the local gun shops are selling them for $500+. The best deal i got was $519 without compensator. they all say the new threaded barrel with compensator isnt ca compliant too. But i heard of them being around. ughh! clarification would be nice
