Yes, the trigger is a little gritty although it has gotten better with use. I'm not comfortable smoothing it out myself and don't want to part with it long enough to have it fixed under warranty so it will probably stay as is.
I consider the heavy trigger to be a safety feature; no Plaxico accidents for me! It took some range time to learn how to use the gun properly to not pull it off target due to the trigger, but it works great for me now. At reasonable SD distances (10 yards and less) my shot groupings are under 4". At 7 yards and less, more typical groupings are under 2". I expect these will get better, but I've only been shooting for a year and have only had my Sigma for about 4 months.
