So first sorry if this has been in another thread but I don't
remember seeing it. I'm not very knowledgable about pistol ammo and was wondering how the sigma holds up whe shooting
147 gr fmj is this not a +p round? I've put 115 and going out this week after my three days to put some 124gr down the pipe. Also, if anyone has a good link about ammo education/ reloading I would be very interested. Thanks everyone!!

First, You can get 147 grain 9mm that aren't +P. Second, My Sigma as been fed 15 different brands/grains/reloads with Zero FTF.(Now at 12,000+ rounds.) 147 grain winchester JHP is what I have loaded in mine right now. Shoots every time.

My Sigma will eat anything, no problem.

Same here. +P+, crappy reloads, hollows...anything.

I've had one FTF and that was when I was shooting +P+ with the pigtail spring out. It went back in and it has never let me down since, even with the +P+.

I am done shooting the +P+ by the way. I just had some to burn but it is gone.

If you ever manage to wear out a gun, almost any gun really, shooting factory ammo, or factory spec reloads, you'll have something to brag about. You'll have done a lot more shooting than most of us will ever do.

Thanks everyone for your comments that's good to know the sigma will eat most everything, I'm still in the process of testing different loads now.

When and if I ever get my gun back from S&W(it feels like months have gone by) I have some new ammo to test and shoot, Remington UMC, Fiocchi and RWS, 250 rounds all together. I called S&W today for an update and all he said the computer showing is that they received the gun on April 26th.

I have recently found that 124 is my 9mm round of choice. My gun loves them, RWS (walmart) or Speer lawman (Dunhams). The only FTF's I had was while shooting Remington 115 FMJ (NOT the super sized UMC box). I have decided to not try my luck again with that round.

Can't go wrong with Winchester White box 115 either...but not as consistant as Speer IMHO.

iiii

Only thing mine didn't like was blazer aluminum. I've always said if it's brass it'll shoot it and haven't found any yet that it won't.

I shoot quite a bit of 9mm most of it is the 147 gr. FMJ's at ca 900 fps. I prefer the recoil sensation of the 147's at ca 900 fps to the 124's at 1100 fps.

mine has shot about 800 rounds of blazer aluminum through my gun with no failures. About 1000 of random mixed brands with the only problem coming from the federal 115gr walmart special.

Mine shoots everything I've tried, even the Blazer Aluminum.

I use 147gr. JHP (standard pressure - not +P) as my carry ammo, but for paper punching, I use the cheapest stuff I can find. I haven't shot my 9VE a great deal yet, but the 147 JHP, 115 gr. FMJ and lead round nose bullets have all fired flawlessly for me so far.

My Sigma will eat anything in 9mm, But I use cheap ammo for range,
As far as carry loads +p 124gn Gold Dots & Winchester NATO is about
the same kick & POA, I shoot a couple of mags of each at range ;-)
Y/D

SW9VE = nom nom nom

I'm too cheap to use the high end stuff like 147 Golden Saber on a regular basis, but aside from recoil preferences, it's as picky as a hungry labrador retriever.

well thanks everyone for your input much appreciated haven't had time yet to hit the range, work and honey do's but hopefully this week sometime.

That's a big 10-4.

It's all a matter of priorities!

1. Range
2. Work
3. Honey-do's
4. Run and take cover.

LOL!
