Not movies but still cool...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bill Cosby and his Colt Python in "Mother, Jugs, and Speed".

Or, Andy Garcia in "The Untouchables", with his Mod.10 and Detective Special.

Or, "Pulp Fiction", when Jules and Vincent get shot at with a Taurus .357 Mag.

Or, "Burn After Reading", where George Clooney shoots Brad Pitt in the face with a Mod.13.

Gloria

It's not even in IMFDB. Gotta mention Gloria (1980) where Gena Rowlands takes on the mob in a skirt, high-heels, oversized purse and a nickel model 36. Ms. Jolie could take lessons from that!

In one interesting scene when the mobsters are trying to shoot through the elevator, with no apparent success, one shouts back to his cohorts, "hand me the magnum."

"Dead Bang" with Don Johnson. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think he was carrying a Colt Python or Diamondback. He carried speedloaders on his belt and I think he even only fired 6 shots each time before he reloads. In most movies they NEVER reload. Somebody in this movie knew guns.

I agree.

Johnson's character was carrying a 6" Python.

How about "city heat" with Eastwood and Reynolds. Great shootout where they keep outdoing each other with bigger guns.

Just this weekend I have watched;

Death Wish
Taxi Driver
Pay Back

all great revolver flicks

and the pill poppin cop in the Professional was Gary Oldman, not Gay Sinise.

Really any John Wayne movie - but it seems this thread has a much more modern feel to it.

So how about these two:

I think the Gauntlet has Eastwood with a .45 revolver. Sandra Locke's character makes reference to the caliber in the movie. Still a cool gun!

Check out the 1940's "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" if you like old films.
This was the original film that gave us that classic line : "Badges, we don't need any stinkin' badges!".
In one scene, Each of the main characters is on a train shooting at bandits through the windows. I can't tell if they are Colts or Smiths, but they sure looked classic.

"Shoot to Kill" with Sidney Poitier and Tom Beringer is a 90's movie that features a few revolvers.

Eastwood carried an S&W M66 2.5 in barrel in a Safariland upside down holster in the Gaunlet

The Last Boyscout - Bruce Willis

Various revolvers here and there. Bruce Willis' character's main gun is a 2.5" Model 19 and there is also a 2.5" Model 66 that he uses at one point. A few other revolvers used by bad guys also. Lots of other guns too.

And it is just a damn good movie.

Austin Powers Goldmember has Beyonce starring as Foxy Cleopatra. Throughout the movie she is sporting a favorite of mine. The S&W mod 66 snubbie!!

I think the .500 S&W first appeared in "Crank" with Jason Statham, the one bad guy has a .500 short barreled S&W.

The classic movies with revolvers list is very very long!

I know a recent movie, forget the name, with Richard Gere as a burned out NYPD cop, has him with his Model 10 4" HB.

Silence of the Lambs had Clarice with a 3" Model 13? Hmmm, I might have to watch that again, not only was Jodie Foster way hot back in the day but also a good movie I haven't seen in a long time!

"The Thing" with Kurt Russell, with the aliens in Alaska, featured a Sheriff with a Colt Trooper 4".

It's funny, what we now call "retro" movies that feature "old revolvers" , movies I watched growing up in the 80's this was just normal! Revolvers weren't "retro" in 1985, they were just guns! Seeing Roy Scheider with a Colt Lawman in Jaws was as normal as seeing Mark Wahlberg with a Glock now a days.

My Dad bought his 66 2.5" back in 1986 when it was probably one of the best handguns you could find, now if I use it for CCW it's "retro".......
