How about these movies?

Unforgiven: S&W Schofield; Colts - SAA, 1860 and Walker; Webley; Remington 1875.

Buck and the Preacher: Possibly Colts (SA)

Death Wish: Colt Police Positive

Beverly Hills Cop: S&W's Model's 10, 19, 629 and 67; Colts Detective Special and Trooper; Dan Wesson Model 15

There are many more; however, The list would be too large.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

Marlboro: You know, that gun costs about two dollars every time you fire it. That's two bucks a bullet.
Harley Davidson: Well how many'd I hit?
Marlboro: You spent twelve dollars and didn't hit a ******* thing. I nailed one and it cost about four and a quarter.

That's a great picture, JHVaughan2! Another good Bogie flick where a revolver comes in handy is To Have and Have Not.

A more modern gangster movie featuring revolvers is True Romance. The plot is preposterous, but hey, it's hollywood.

What about the Treasure of the Sierra Madre? Seems that I remember some rather large frame revolvers in that movie.

I haven't been able to sit and re-watch WAY OF THE GUN in a while, but does anybody know what gun James Caan was using? It was a snubby and just about the only time I can remember on film having somebody in a major shootout (everybody else has automatic everythings) use and reload a snub through the entire 10 or 15 minute final shootout. Not a widely seen movie...but one of my favorites with a terrific scene between Benicio Del Toro and Caan.

Yeah, where the bandits posing as "Federales" are trying to convince the gold prospectors that they are legit, and "don't need no stinking badges!"

I love IMFDB, I have been on there a while. I'm not a good gun "spotter" yet so I have to rely on what I read on there. One movie I started watching recently was "Life Without Dick" with Johnny Knoxville, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Harry Connick Jr. It's a comedy so the gun fights aren't very dramatic, but I did notice that pretty much every gun in that movie is a revolver. Surprising since it's only a couple years old and set in present day. I looked on IMFDB but it's not listed. I might have to hook my screen cap to my DVR to get some stills of the movie to get them ID'd. Anyone else see that movie? Oh, and since we are talking movie guns, I have a question. The other day at work some friends and I were talking about guns and someone asked what kind of gun Barnie Fife carried in The Andy Griffith Show. No one knew and that show isn't on IMFDB either. Anyone on here know?

James Caan's snub

James Caan, I am 90 % sure carried a 640-1 in "Way of the Gun." Denzel Washington carried a 640 no dash in "Deja Vu". Best revolver flick? "Dillinger" with Warren Oates is a good one. So is "Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia" with Warren Oates. The colt combat commander is the star but there is some nice revolver work as well.

"The Mean Season", with Kurt Russell and Mariel Hemingway had the villain using a.45 auto and a Combat Magnum, as I recall. And the paperback release of the book had a six-inch M-28 on the cover.

"Broken Arrow", with John Travolta, has a M-66 in many of the action scenes. It was issued to the pretty girl park ranger who helps save the day.

T-Star.

Barney Fife's Revolver

In the pic, It appears to be a Colt. I say that because of the wide square sight notch on the top strap. Could be a Official Police, or a Post war Police Positive. My .02 would be for the offical police.

A movie called "PARIS TROUT" starring Dennis Hopper who plugged some folks with some old classic S&W's. Movie takes place in 30''s or 40's Mississippi I think. Dennis can portray such an awful person! Great actor.

"The Professional" with Gary Senise (sp?) as the crazy pill-head cop. I think he had a stainless steel, N-frame snub of some sort, maybe a 629, 624, or 657.

About Barney’s “gun”:
This comes up a lot and the consensus seems to be that Barney was variously armed with a S&W or a Colt, just whatever the studio’s prop department had handy that day.

Movies:
An all-time favorite of mine is Thief, starring James Caan. This is the only movie I remember in which the man who supplied the custom firearms is listed in the credits at the end of the film. To top it off, Willie Nelson gives a solid performance as a dying convict who had been a mentor to Frank (James Caan’s character) when they were incarcerated together. Frank favors semi-autos, but the mobsters he fights armed themselves with revolvers and shotguns.

I think the Gauntlet has Eastwood with a .45 revolver. Sandra Locke's character makes reference to the caliber in the movie. Still a cool gun!

Check out the 1940's "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" if you like old films.
This was the original film that gave us that classic line : "Badges, we don't need any stinkin' badges!".
In one scene, Each of the main characters is on a train shooting at bandits through the windows. I can't tell if they are Colts or Smiths, but they sure looked classic.

"Shoot to Kill" with Sidney Poitier and Tom Beringer is a 90's movie that features a few revolvers.

Live and Let Die...
Not my favorite Bond, but an awesome gun!
