Is the ACLU defending 2nd Amendment rights?

That is an interesting and unusual story, but the part that stuck with me was:

Brandon Hensler, the ACLU of Florida's communications director in Miami, said: "This is the first time I know of in the ACLU's 90-year history that we have advocated on behalf of a citizen to have their weapons returned from law enforcement."

Guess we don't need to depend on the ACLU too often!

LewA;
You need to edit your title it says ACLA,
I will believe the ACLU has turned around when I see them joining the various actions to fight the new Chicago Regulations or perhaps the Sullivan Act.
Until then keep your money.

Thanks--how do I edit the title? The edit button only seems to allow editing of the body of the post, not the title...there must be a way...

I am not a member of the ACLU and don’t know exactly how it is structured but...

Most similar organizations are run by the executives and board. The members contribute money but have very little influence on policy or direction.
The boards are frequently self-perpetuating; the members either can’t vote for the board or have no part in candidate selection. In some cases the executives select the board.
The NRA is very democratic compared to most NGOs, most operate like the AARP which doesn’t have the least interest in what “members” think.
