M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

first 10 shots

So I finally got this thing out and shot it. Cold right out of the box here are the results. I can't say I could be any happier with it. I put another 500 rounds threw it after that and all were the same. If you have been thinking of picking one of these rifles up do it, you won't regret it.

New to the forum, been lurking for a few weeks learning about the 15-22 before I got mine, just came in today and had some accessories waiting for it. Will try to get some better pics later.

Thanks for the 'heads-up' on the grip. Not to go off topic, but, it is scary that simply by adding a grip the whole context of the firearm changes. I assume that the grip is not allowed whether or not it extends vertically or horizontally from the rail. Also is interesting that the 15/22P is considered a 'handgun', but I don't think that I have ever fired it with one hand. It naturally goes in two hands by the ergonomics of it. The grip will be removed permanently as soon as I return from work today. Thanks again for the clarification.

Any other ATF subtlties that one should be aware of??

It really is stupid, but it's the law. I've considered putting a vertical grip on the rail of my normal pistol, but thankfully I learned of the law before I debuted that at the range.

You're not allowed to add a stock to a pistol either. I imagine that's why S&W put the sling point right there.

If you have both the pistol and rifle 15-22 do not swap uppers/lowers, since you'd be creating a short barrel rifle (though I'm not certain if the 16" barrel on the pistol lower is a no-no, but at that point you can most likely be found guilty of intent to join the other two and make the SBR).

I'd really like to see someone who has both take a pic of the pistol upper on the rifle lower..it would look really cool. Mabe a challenge for any of you photoshop savvy people out there :D

Well I understand that it is not actually law but just bureaucratic regulations and the courts have ruled against the BATF on that matter stating that they are still pistols and not AOW's, but they continue to arrest and prosecute ignoring the rulings. The BATF tried to do the same regarding the TC Contender but the courts finally prevailed on behalf of TC and the shooting public. Still wouldn't advise that accessory.

I did a chop of one earlier in this thread....check'it.

They differ a little from each other, but give you an idea of what a M&P 15-22P MOE would look like....hehehe.

Nice. What scope is that? I don't think I've seen one quite like that with ACOG style mount and short rail sections.

Talk about light and quuuick

If prairie dogging or shooting at longer ranges, I swap it out with a 3-9x redfield.
