Hollywood Actor Wants Magazine Ban

"I think Gomer needs a blanket party!"- Thats genius. He was great as a mentally challenged failure.......oh wait, maybe he wasn't acting???

I remember 5+ years ago he went on a (psychotic) rant about how evil our President, George W Bush, was. Quit watching the show then and never looked back.

It's amazing how actors and singers (many of whom never finished high school) have the correct answers to everything. Manmade global warming, ocean currents, green energy, world hunger, commercial fishing, oil and gas exploration, what car you should drive, who to vote for, which political party has the answers, the list goes on and on.

The only actor that I ever placed any credence in his opinion was President Ronald Reagan.

Worth repeating.

Do you consider Chiefs to be LEO?

I was the chief of a 5 man department; you're darned right I was a LEO! I worked the road, I was the baliff for the municipal court, and I had to be a the town council meetings to defend my meager budget.
If you think you touched a nerve, you're right again.
P.S. - 90% of the police and sheriff's departments in the US have less than 10 employees. That's a lot of chiefs, sheriffs, and chief deputies that do REAL police work.

Oldman 45 - Do you have any statistics regarding the "massive amounts of LEO who want guns banned"? In my 35 years as a LEO I can't think of any officers who felt this way (including many Chiefs of Police I have known, all who came up through the ranks and were fine officers). And while were on this subject, I never had a problem with a responsible citizen who was armed. To the contrary, I've seen more than a few incidents where citizens used firearms to prevent a crime
simply by possessing a weapon and making the perp aware of this. But these instances don't make good press, no-one was shot, hence you seldom hear about them. Perhaps that's why here in Vermont we have such a low rate of burglary of occupied homes. When things go bump in the night a perp is likely to be met with something that goes bang in the night.

That's interesting. Is the IACP still anti-gun?

I'm a retired member of IACP, and their stance has been that they do not support a nation-wide CC permit. They are of the opinion, and I agree, that local jurisdictions, whether state, county, or municipal, should determine who gets a CC permit. IACP did support the original legislation for the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, signed by President Bush, and the improvements passed this year and signed by President Obama. I have never found or seen anything, and I've looked more than once, that shows IACP to be "anti-gun" or against legal civilian ownership of firearms.

I agree. Most big-city chiefs that are in the media spotlight HAVE to parrot the wishes and wants of those in the office of the mayor, not speaking their own beliefs, but those of whoever appointed them to their top positions. In big-cities, the job of Chief is political. In real and rural America, they are/were street-cops like you and me.

Heck every Chief knew were LEO's. One I know collects blackpowder guns, and the other who has since passed away was really into reloading, hunting, and had quite the collection of firearms.

As far as this guy, well he had plenty of meltdowns on the show, maybe they were not all fake. Maybe when he was in Men & Black he really did possessed by a giant cockroach!

That's like a few other actors like Daniel Craig, plays James Bond but wants gun control, same with Sly Stallone. They make their living with them, but its ok for them to play make believe with guns, but us little people can't have them.

Well, one good thing is that Donofrio there isn't even on that show anymore (maybe spotlight here for more work??). Another thing, what is a "high volume" magazine? Is that loud? But what I really love is how these acting chumps say "Well I'm all in favor of owning guns." Then they get together with some gun control people like he did in the ad he's making who doesn't want you to own guns if he had his way. As the old saying goes, you get in bed with a dog, you wake up with fleas. It's either a for and against thing there Vincent, and guess who's side your on?
