There's no negatives on either side, just personal preference. The value you get with the MOE version, assuming you want all those parts, is realllly good. Forgot how much extra the MOE version is but just with the sights alone you'd be at that price. If you want to add furniture from a different brand then don't bother paying the extra for the Magpul version.

This...only difference between the two is the furniture. MOE is great value for the money if you want Magpul furniture and plan to leave it that way. A1 Comp is the way to go if you have other preferences (i.e. Houge pistol grip, Vltor stock, Troy sights, etc.).

Just picked one up yesterday with the MOE for $525. Got the M&P 40 at the same time for $475. Great prices for each. There was a "cheaper" 15-22 there for $489, figured the extra couple of bucks was worth it to get it with MOE.

Very nice! Thanks for the feedback as I might have to go for the MOE. Hopefully I can find one around here as I only saw the standard version at Turner's in my area.

Had the MOE been available I would have bought it over my standard 15-22.

I recently purchased a 15/22 pre-owned from Cabel's and after reading these posts I'm not quite sure which model I have, how do you tell the difference? The clerk at Cabela's never explained the the difference between the two models.

So which did you determine you bought Rick?

What are the differences between the standard model and the MOE?

Tom

moe has folding sights where as the standard are fixed. Moe has better stock(in my mind) and a different grip. But like the other guys have said unless you want the fold sights and going to use them for awhile or make them co-whiteness, it better to buy standard and put your own scope on it.

Just my $.02

Hey there JAGG, the rifle I got was the standard model, but that's ok because I took the iron sights off & replaced them with a Bushnell 1x28 Trophy red dot and on the barrel I installed a Moerse Lekker ventilated shroud, it really makes the 15/22 look bad-***.

Got a pic? I'm sure not just myself would like to check it out.
