Debating on the sigma...

Not without some heavy mods, but the heavy trigger pull is what makes the Sigma a Sigma, there are no other safeties other than the trigger pull. There are some threads on here about how to mod the trigger, but after shooting my 9VE the heavier trigger is really no problem at all. It does take a little to get used to, but after about 100 rounds or so it starts to smooth out even more. I have around 1500 rounds thru my 9, the trigger is butter smooth, and gets better everytime I take it out. I am getting groups of 2 to 3" at 30 to 50 feet with it consistantly. Like I said before, I carry it and I trust it with my life everyday, when I pull the trigger I know that it will go bang, and with the trigger, I also know that I will have to be dang sure that I am pulling the trigger on purpose and know that it is not going to fire unless I mean it to.

Well I like to quick draw and with a revolver I had the choice to draw the hammer back in the draw and wala instant half pound pull and once it was pointing where I was id done hit whatever I was shooting... Put that in a semi auto and with some practice you be a deadly force to reckon with

Like say had a second to shoot and using sights was out of the question your gonna (with decent training) use ur pointer finger to take the shot and if you train like that you can make it surgeon precise and a heavy pull makes it a lil harder to get that precision

If you are wanting to start having competition type triggers you will need to go to an M&P and use Apex trigger kits to get the results you want ......

Common sense tells me that if I replace that, theres a good chance that there will be less bang more click

Correct many have tried it and almost all have experienced light strikes as the Sigma doesnt have second strike capability thats not good.

Dont tell anyone anything good about Sigmas or the price might go up to reflect those good reviews. Its the best kept secret in the gun world...for the price its a fantastic gun. its definitely undervalued......trigger? man up and pull it. I have 110 pound ladies qualify with one that never shot a gun let alone one with a heavy trigger pull.

From this description, I think you should broaden your search and look for a Traditional Double Action (TDA) gun. Check out the S&W 59/559/5906 high capacity double stack, or 39/3906 single stack line. These series offers lots of variations, etc.

To your point, they offer an exposed hammer like your revolver so you can 'draw the hammer back' if you like, but unlike your revolver the rest of your shots will have this lighter pull and a shorter reset too. When you are done you can decock, which lower the hammer safely and easier than lowering the revolver's hammer, and you can leave it in SAFE if you like or put it back up and ready for a first DA pull.

With a bit of patience and a little luck you can probably find a good 'shooter grade' for about the price of a Sigma.

Oh, and I have a Model 59 and a Sigma 40F, and I like them both... ;)

Nope its to late now I done picked up 2 new ones the sigma and a p95, the p95 was able to do all that quick draw mcgraw I like to do :D the sigma isnt bad though I'm pretty decent downrange with it.. Idk how competition works or moa and stuff but 11 yard groups our the size of a quarter, I'd guess thats good right? Or at least for for two cheap guns

I have a Sigma 40, carry it often, it's light, stands up to the abuse of banging through the woods on a quad or tractor, and in .40 it's got substantial stopping power. it is capable of firing with the mag removed so you can swap once the last round is "in the hole." I have a complaint though, it shoots low and the sights are fixed.

damn excellent price but if it went up $100 I'd consider the sigma a flop

Thats the thing people try and compare the Sigma to a $500 or $750 gun which its clearly not. For just shy of $300 its a great gun for $500 well thats another story. The Sigma is what it is, top of the line low budget pistol that works.

People expect far too much from these pistols when you spend $300 you get a $300 pistol.

After S&W fixed my "gritty" trigger I have no complaints. This thing is like a tank.Even tho it's only a $300 gun it sometimes seems it can compete with any gun out there.Just my .02.

SWord13, more than likely your Sigma shoots right to where it is pointing when it goes bang. I would guess you are pulling the bore down when firing. Concentrate on keeping the sights aligned on the target even after the gun fires. That is what is meant by follow through. Simple concept, sometimes hard to execute. Pardon me if I am wrong.

it is kinda funny to me when people say pistol X shoots low. Well there are a few reasons

1. Your barrel is bent.....not likely

2. Your sights are off.....possible

3. Dont understand your sights......are they set for 6'o clock or POA

4. Its all you, shoot from a bench and see what happens
