Like many of you, I am addicted to grips. Check my latest.

Thought I would share some of my new pairs of shoes. Check these out.

First some bonded Ivories I picked up from forum member Pontiaker. I felt like I got a great deal. Thanks Matt. Here pictured on a S-prefix M-57.

Daniel, those look like Tru Ivory stocks with medallions added. Nothing, imo, comes as close to real ivory as stocks made by Bar S. They're great looking.

Daniel, Do you know where I can find replicas of the 1950's smooth rosewood target grips? I think they're a pre coke bottle factory accessory item. The originals cost a fortune, like 500.00.

Does the bonded ivory have a router looking "N" inside them with two extra holes above and below? If so then they may be made by Altamont. They have an ink stamp they usually put inside but it may have rubbed off. I'm not sure what the inside of Ajax's look like, but that is another maybe. I can't remember if Collins does bonded ivory but I know he does Corian that feels and looks VERY similar. That's my last maybe. I would hazard the short targets could be Harret's that someone chopped and refinished. And I agree with everything said about John's work. Those were the best for last. I'm still shopping for a gun deserving of the ebony targets that I bought from him.

Here is a set of bonded Ivory.. Ajax. Inside Stamped..

Not sure I have seen any replicas of that style being made. You are right they are harder to find than nice Cokes are and usually cost you as much if not more. I know guys that have decided to sell off many of their nice grips and still won't let those ones go because of their scarcity. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Nickle plated guns have never tripped my trigger, but when I saw that Pinto..........OMG!
That is beautiful!

How does one get in touch with John Kurac and his grips??

Mike

Check the classifieds section. He has an active thread somewhere on the first page of the accessories for sale section. His name on the forum is "Kurac" and you should be able to identify by that. :)

I'm a grip junky, even to the point of selling a great set of rosewoods to get some I wanted even more.
Having made many sets over the years, in the ultimate form of flattery, I now have three sets of Keith Brown grips and more in process.

I could go on for quite some time with this, but you get the drift.... My real problems began when I allowed my self to buy custom grips rather than just make them.
(Daniel, thanks for the opportunity to show off some of our collective Great Grips!)

Daniel, glad to hear you are enjoying the grips!

I am also a huge grip/stock junky, here are a few below including the I frame Ropers I picked up recently on a minty .22/.32 Heavy Frame Target.

The pre 27 from 1951 wears a pair of KB Ropers.

The nickle Third model from 1932 wears a pair of KB pre war Magna's with some emblems I provided for the build. They came out awesome!

The little LS wears an extra pair of original third model grips that I send to Keith and her checkered them for me.

Very cool seeing everyones awesome grips in this thread!

Thanks to you guys for keeping the posts and pics coming. I feel better knowing I am not alone in this addiction. :)

Although I should add that all the pretty pictures are simply making it worse. Now I am beginning to develop some new obsessions to vintage ivory and walnut. I have some examples to share but it only makes me want more.

Some J frame Ivories that don't fit all that great, some heavily modified Ropers that I purchased at a Radio Shack (that was cool), and some 1911 Sandersons I picked up at a show. They were all buys that none of us would have passed up regardless of their imperfections.
