I bought a great big box of this stuff so heres what I have

A certificate for authorized service

A post card to be sent from the factory to quote a refinish or change of finish on your gun.has a three cent liberty stamp printed on it.

A sticker is a peel and stick they are one piece. You would have to cut them apart. One is silver with black writing the other bright yellow with black. I've no idea of the use.

Lastly a small card from the S&W academy. almost seems like a book mark. No other writing on it and made from card stock. Again no idea what it was meant for.

If any one knows what some of this is please let me know!

The story is someone bought this at a garage/ estate sale from someone near Hartford, CT. Not to far from the factory really. I am surprised they werent a member here

I have about two shoe boxes full of this stuff. I dont know what I will do with it all, time will tell.

I have a few other things that I am reading and deciding how to present at a later time.

It's true, I've been know to "Dive" a time or two. The sheet with the logos are parking permits, they would have the year printed on them. All of the "stuff you have I'd be interested in. At first glance, I'd say this stuff is from the print shop or, it was thrown away after it was taken out of the print shop.
Ed, you should have been with me the day I went to the Outside Repair Dept, as I rounded the corner in the parking lot, there was a BFI rolloff dumpster full of two piece blue boxes, with a guard standing next to it. As I walked over to it, she said "Don, don't come any closer". I should have waited for pickup and paid the guy to follow me to my buddys house about a mile away.

Don, As you say, you win some & lose some! Most of us are green with envy that you live close enough to the factory to save some dumpster material from the land fills. My best score was years ago at the old Great Western Gun show in Los Angeles when a seller offered me a foot locker full of S&W gages, jigs, dies, tools, etc. salvaged from the dumpsters when the factory moved from Stockbridge St. to the present location after WW2. They were for the American models, Schofields, NM#3s, and some Light Rifle jigs, etc. The whole locker cost me $5. It weighed well over 100 lbs and the seller was tired of hauling it around. Ed.

The best thing I received is copies of "The Gunner"

I wish I had more of them.

I wish I could post some of the columns printed inside. Like Department in Review, explain what each department does, like the Automatic Dpt or Hard Fitting. Stories on the different divisions, like the leather goods and Alcan.

Someone was collecting these as they have different shipping labels on them.

The inter dpt envelope has names on it, if you read the news letters you can find the names inside.

Older ones from 1969 and 1970. Also Family Day 1981, it has a map of the factory as it was an open house. They even had workers showing what and how they did things. I have a few more not shown in the picture.

Has anyone seen these around before?

I have complete years, I have a few from the 1950's. I saw the name Ed G on the envelope. I knew him well.

I think some of this stuff came through Ed G, I am not sure why I think that.

Ed's name is in one of the papers, he received his 10 year button and pin in 1968, he worked as a hard fitter.

He's also listed in the 1990 Quarter Century Club dinner program, 31 Years.

I wonder what the engraved gold watches look like or the tie clasps?

I have seen the watches, they really are nothing special, a clasp on the wristband. I have tieclasps and tie bars.

If I could get permission I would happily post them. I think many folks would enjoy them.

If someone knows FOR SURE about the copyright or how to get approval feel free to let me know.

I did consider calling S&W, but I think they will think I am a crackpot, or not have a clue as to what I am talking about.

I'm sure there are members including myself that would like to read the articles you find interesting. Could you scan them and post the scan like a picture? Nice find! Bob

There's a company called Levenger that produces customized 'note cards' with a person's name or company name at the top. They can be lined or unlined.

Their product reminds me of the item you posted that was printed on card stock.

Possibly used as a promo item or done for employees...

With the exception of the later Gunners all of the material show in this collection WAS printed in Smith & Wesson's own printshop located in the plant. It was a large operation, they even printed their own boxes.

A form for a special request in the factory.

Form for payment from the employee profit sharing plan. This looks like it should have been trimmed, giving more validation that this stuff was from the print shop.

This one is really nice its a poster about 18"x 20". It was rolled up but got squished, not flattened. It doesnt have a date or copyright on it.

Lastly a booklet on the 1986 Masters
