Wifes new pink M&P failure to feed issue. Just picked it up today and running CCI long ammo. The issue i think is the mag. The rounds intermittently get stuck just bellow the top and is hung up. Happened 12again times in first 100 rounds. I felt bad for her. Any tricks or tips or do we have a bad mag? I did take some pics of the failure will try and post.

Most likely caused by incorrectly loading the magazine. Follow the loading instructions in the manual.

You can read in your instruction manual on the proper way to load it. When I first got mine I loaded it wrong and had feeding issues. Also when I load a magazine I tap the bottom of it to make sure the rounds stagger well. Let us know if any of that helps, good luck and hope it works out.

I would make sure that when loading up your mag that the rounds are staggered (as in they alternate leaning to the left and right of the magazine when loaded) and that each rim of every round is in front of the round below it. The magazines can be finicky to load.

If you still get failures when you are sure it is loaded fine, you might have a bad magazine and I am sure Smith and wesson will replace it.

Thanks for the fast replys, I did read the directions and was as careful as possible. the last mag we fired 1st one shot then FFF then the next 18 non stop no issues. One more photo the rounds appear to be staggered and that thing is a lil picky to load for sure.

With the round stopped short you could pull down on the loading button and all the rounds under it
would drop and it would stay in place. Let them go a couple of times and it would come to the top finnaly.

CCI Long? As in .22 Long & not .22 Long Rifle?

I had some issues when loading at first also. I found I was trying to hold the spring down and load too many, too fast or if the shells werent tight against the back of the clip they would get stuck like that. I now load slower and tip the clip back just far enough to get good contact with the back of the clip.
Good Luck

CCI box says long. I carefuly loaded it again tipped back just a little I see what u mean. Gona go out on the deck n see what happens.

Check loading technique, load one at a time not using assist buttons. If that doesn't work you may have something in the way. Load a few rounds, pull down with assist buttons and slowly let it come back up. If it gets stuck, pull it down and let it snap back up. If that doesn't fix your problem call s& w

Magazine. About the only American-made firearm that uses a "clip" is an M1 Garand. :)

Yup im an idiot. I PICKED up the wrong ammo.... ran some old LR hollow points thru it no problem. The longs will fire in my mark III pistol. Sorry guys ammo issue not her gun. DOH!

Uhhhh isn't the 15-22 for lr only?

Good post Dave...yes it is.LR ONLY.I have one and have some trouble with CCI,I love CCI.Have shot them for years!! My 15-22 loves winchester super X..don't know why but it does...will shoot the CCI"s but if you shoot as fast as you can it will jam.Winchesters don't...still love it though!!lol....Good Luck with your wifes gun Dave!

Haha I think I ordered '.22long' some time back instead of .22lr. Got too excited about the deal and didn't finish reading the whole thing :)

Tapping it won't insure proper stagger if you are using the load assist buttons instead of an AR 22 type loader than pushs down in the follower. Taping the back spine of the mag after loading will at least make sure the rounds are back against the end to make sure they don't stick out too much.
I was wondering if your saying 22 Long was for real or just a typing mistake.

Yeah me tooooo damn glad my Ruger Pistol shoots them since I have 600 rounds!!!! lol oh well more ammo

Bummer, I missed the .22 LONG part.

Missed it because, well ,,, some things are just assumed.
But to be honest this does still fall under and could be fixxed by ..... ;)
