Ok guys.....Evertywhere I check I cant seem to locate the Shield in .40 cal..........any ideas where I can locate one?

They are out. i luckily stumbled upon one yesterday. Its amazing the recoil is much less than i expected.

Have you ever fired a Glock 22? If you have, how would you compare the muzzle climb to that of a Glock 22?

I havent shot a g22 i have shot a g23 and the flip and recoil was almost the same. i personally feel the g23 was "snappier"

I have both the 9mm and 40 shield, the 40's were slower coming out the dealer said. Just hang in there they are out there, you'll run into one soon im sure.

Picked mine up this morning 5-26-12 at LGS. I was just lucky and called to ask about the next shipment. They had sold several 9s and a couple 40s already. He said he had a 40 just show up. Put my name on it I said. Be there sat morning. They are about an hr away. He said they dont last long when he actually gets them in the store.
You may just have to do some calling locally every day and check. Thats what I was doing. I had 3 places I was calling every other day. I gave up on the online places.

At the Miami gun show today, all anyone had we the 40. The 9 was selling out quickly. One of the bigger booths told me that they sold out of the 9 within minutes of opening today.

My buddy picked one up this morning at the SGK Gunshow at VA Beach, VA. He wanted a 9mm, but missed getting it by about 30 seconds, the dealer had one each, so he had to settle for the 40. I have to admit it looks and feels good, can't wait to go out with him to shoot it and compare it to my G22 Gen4.

I waited five weeks and was on a list just waiting for the 40, I can buy a 9mm barrel and stick it in the 40 just like my full and even compact 40's so I would hop on the 40.
I shot mine today and very happy with it, it might become my EDC and the 40C my BUG!

Well after long and hard searching, I finally found a shop that gets them in.......It was back home in Pa. where my buddy works. My name is on the list and I think I'm 3rd on the list. I'm in Wisconsin and my suspicion is that since we are less than a year from the passage of the conceal carry law, Not many shops in Wisconsin are the front runners for S&W.......some shops even tried to convince me that the .40's are not even out yet!!!! shows how disconnected wisc is for now.
The 40 Shield was first available early May. My LGS called me on May 1 and I picked it up on May 2. I am still waiting for my call back for the 9mm. Hang in there!

Same with me. Got mine today and it went right to the range. Felt that the recoil was more manageable than a G27.
