Model of S&W used by James Holmes in CO shooting?

The CBS Morning News with Charles Kuralt this morning showed a picture of a S&W M+P 15 Sport as the weapon used. Also listed 2 40 caliber Glocks and some 12 gauge shotgun (can't remember if it was pistol grip or standard stock). It said he had purchased 3000 rounds for the rifle, 3000 rounds for the Glocks and 300 rounds for the shotgun over the previous months.

I also heard it had jammed during the massacre. Probably a magazine problem, but no details provided. He apparently finished with either the pistol or the shotgun - but again, no detail provided on the news story. The second Glock was in his car. Either way, I am certain the reinstatement of the "Assault Weapons Ban" is high on the agenda of numerous political scum.

But the Assault Weapons Ban didn't. It only banned certain features- flash hider, bayonet lug, etc.

The original AWB only made a few people with no knowledge of firearms feel warm and fuzzy. Why ban a flash hider? Does that make anything safer? I guess banning bayonet lugs could possibly have prevented some bayonet assaults. Anybody got any stats on that one? The same mentality by our fearless leader and that woman who ran against him has prevented the reimportation of M1 Garands and M1 carbines ("they might fall into the wrong hands") and prevented legal collectors from owning a piece of history that was paid for by our tax money. I haven't heard of an attack using either gun since Buford Pusser got shot. Folks, the antis have been looking for excuses to push their agenda and disarm innocent people. They think they may have one now. Watch out for the UN treaty and contact your senator if you haven't already done so and by all means make sure you vote in November.

I think it was the M&P 15A model, the one with the carry handle. There was a overhead pic (maybe from a helicopter) of it on the floor outside of the emergency exit.

It is nutty. But here is the way I see it.
If they ban the bayonet lug/flash hider - wouldn't it be in our best interest to concede? I'm afraid that if we draw attention
to the absurdity we enlighten the enemy to what we really do want. Let's play dumb ingratiating the politician's good judgment when it comes to meaningless legislation of this sort.

It's a moot point as to which brands/models of weapons he used. It easily could have been Ruger, Beretta, Colt, Savage, etc. That being said, I'll leave you all with this final note by American novelist , William S. I agree, the ANTI's will come out from under every rock again and make a push.

The biggest problem I see relating to William S. Burroughs quote is Holmes, up until the time he committed this atrocity, WAS one of the people who "didn't do it". He had no record, he was just an average person as far as we know. This is why we will eventually lose our rights, because criminals aren't the only one's committing these acts.. It's scary but it's only a matter of time.
