If S&W would have stopped making new models after the Model 10, they still would have reached perfection for me! The Model 10-5 with a 4" barrel is everything I need in a handgun, and nothing I don't. I've carried this one for years, and am carrying it today. She's got some miles on her, but she's not even close to retirement.

s&w model 60, why is it my favorite because it is the first stainless revolver S&W ever produced, second because my uncle charles completed his tour of duty in vietnam in 1965

That’s like asking a parent which is your favorite child. My favorite S&W is the one I have in my hand no matter which one I’m holding.

My M-27's for overall quality and finish.
My M- 19"s as they fit my hand so well.
My 586 as it shoots everything I put in so well.

My favorite Smith & Wesson is the blue K-frame revolver with 6" barrel with factory target diamond stocks with a football cutout. It also needs to have a trigger shoe. With the right combination of Wulff springs and a little tweaking here & there, there is no finer gun on Earth. As far as specific calibers or model numbers, I'm flexible.

Hard to say, but probably my 5 inch Model 10 or my Model 15. Because the .38 is my favorite revolver cartridge.

My favorite 29...

Drew - I'm glad to see someone posting pix of an honest-to-goodness well loved and used specimen, Don't get me wrong - I love seeing all the gun porn that is daily displayed but I have to wonder about just how much some of these guns ever see the outside of the safe. I don't believe in careless handling or the abuse of my guns; I do my best to take care of what I own and like most others admire the nicer aspects of appearance, but I won't have one that I wouldn't use. And when you use them, really use them, they don't stay perfect looking forever. They'll belong to someone else soon enough - while they're still mine I do my part to contribute to the honest wear.

its a close call, but of the various S&W model revolvers that i have, i believe i like the model 64's...........

S&W model 64-4.....brink's snub
S&W model 64-3.....three inch with bobbed hammer
S&W model 64-5 NY-1

dependable, accurate and well balanced

That's easy..... S&W spent more time striving for perfection in one model. They took the extra time and expense of more checkering etc on the model 27 than any other one. I have a 4 inch nickel 27-2 that is an absolute work of art and I've never seen one that looks better.

My 29-3

Fred,

I own alot of 29's, but this humble -3 has made me look good on more occassions than any of the others combined.

About 10 years ago I rescued it from a bowhunter who was about to beadblast it and paint it with hotrod primer (YIKES!).

It has rewarded me ever since. I think that it is just greatful to have been spared the abuse! :)

All of the N frames in any caliber gets my vote. If its in S&W nickel finish its comming home with me too thats a very big plus. With colt discontinuing there nickel finishes and most of all there revolvers its up to S&W to keep the history of S&W still being offered to us and the nickel finishes going. Or should i say we can own, touch and shoot a piece of S&W history in any of there revolvers.
I'm a newbie and still look forward to owning more S&W revolvers old and new.

Definitely have to say that the M19/66 4 inch is my favorite. Carried both on duty for many years and we became as one. They feel like an
natural extension of my hand and will perform just about any task I need
to accomplish with a handgun.

Second place goes to the K22/17. No need to explain that one!

My first thought is the M10. I was issued it back in 1972 and fired it one time on duty. I've owned a 686 and sold it, so I think for the present time I'll select my 640-1. She's small, stainless, concealable with no exposed hammer and we all know it can be loaded with the 38 round or 357 magnum.
