460 or 500 S&W, you wouldn't want to wound one only to loose it and have it to bleed out in the wilderness somewhere. Besides no better way to end the holiday season than with a snubby big bore magnum making wreathes of fire.

10 rounds rifle, 10 rounds with your revolvers and clean up with your shotgun....and time it. or whatever haha have fun

Probl'y go with a .308.. as they attack in pairs.. and you need to stop 'em cold from a distance ;):D

First of all, act ASAP. Lawn gnomes are like carpenter ants, if you see one or two, there is probably a colony. But generally, just remember the rules for a gun fight. Bring a rifle. Bring a friend with a rifle. If you use a handgun, it should be a caliber starting with a 4.

But you have to get them cleanly. If not, you create a bigger problem - zombie lawn gnomes. A zombie lawn gnome can only be eradicated with a silver bullet. Do you reload by any chance?

I'm pretty sure they're underpants gnomes, in fact I'm sure they've already set up some elaborate smuggling syndicate. They're also commies, with the smurfs supplying them with AKs in trade for your underpants. That m16 was probably a war trophy... get the napalm.

I would use something with the velocity of the .357 in case any of them are wearing body armor. Make sure you don't shoot any Keebler elves by mistake. It's hard to get decent cookies these days.

Believe the apocalypse has started. I don't reload, acquired an older 38 few weeks ago,$35.00 for 50 box reloading looks mandatory

Oh, no, Hank. Your problem is worse than I had thought. Also, Texas Star brought up a good point - are you seeing them indoors, or just outdoors? If they have infiltrated indoors your problem is much more insidious than I thought.

First, don't panic! There is still hope. Call your local ZGRT (Zombie Gnome Response Team.) Until they arrive, remember, gnomes, even zombie gnomes, will freeze when in your sight. (Check this book - How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack: Defend Yourself When the Lawn Warriors Strike (And They Will) - Amazon.) So get one or two family members and get in the classic zombie gnome circled wagon formation, shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-back.

Until the ZGRT gets there, I'm told, but I haven't checked it out myself, that a little silver enamel (finger nail polish should work) on your bullets should incapacitate the ZG for a short period. It will not stop them, but it should give you some breathing room.

You should also be able to move slowly in the circled wagon formation enough to evacuate your house and property. This is a last ditch effort, but if you must, I'm sure that there are enough S&W Forum members who will volunteer to come down there and help you retake your home. It will take me about two days from here in western NY, but you can count me in!

You must use enough gun to get the job done. They are tenacious little buggers. Believe me, what ever you do, you don't want a wounded "roaming gnome."

And people wonder why we need high-cap mags! You definitely don't want to have to take time to reload once the Gnome carniage starts.

I agree that you should use enough gun. I like a good .41 mag hand load; a 250 grain solid gas check amped up to max velocity. The penetration is so good sometimes you can get two with one shot.

Lawn gnomes are one thing, but if you have these guys in your garden you will need some heavy artillery and a Doctor.
