Well, they are actually bonded ivory. Couldn't afford actual ivory. Still think they look good. I'd like to add Tyler T-grip to it.

Looks great. I didn't know they still make bonded ivory grips. You usually see micarta or corian. A Tyler-T grip would definitely make it more comfortable to shoot. I've got two on my N frames. They look good too.

I think it looks nice. I bet it also shoots good. Larry

Thanx. You are correct, it is a very smooth shooter. I have been very fortunate lately in the two model 29's I picked up. This one with the grips I have $670 into, the other is a 29-2 6.5" blued in 90+% condition for $600.

Most of my Stainless and nickle guns wear antler or bonded ivory. The color combination is stunning. Are those Altimont's?
p.s. I see no advantage of real ivory over bonded ivory other than bragging rights. Enjoy!

They don't have what I need. The grips pictured for a S&W K/L frame. Looks like they only have them for the N frame.
Thanks,
Tony

Go to Boone Trading Company - Ivory and Scrimshaw

They have the K frame grip in bonded ivory, with options:

Grip - $45.00
Medallions - $15.00
Aged - $20.00
Checkering - $20.00

I've been dealing with Boone Trading for over 20 years; the only go to place for real ivories and bonded ivories IMO.

I see bonded ivory grips, new, for most Smith and Wesson frames on E-Bay rather regularly. I keep a standing search for Smith and Wesson grips and the email comes almost every day. However, if you have several hours, an open E-Bay search of Smith and Wesson will bring some surprising items. Sometimes small sellers do not know how to accurately describe what they have.

Altamont does them nice and purty. Right here in the US. They will add medallions to them also. Costs about $60.
