I know we all have the guns that we use for one good reason or another; defense, hunting, target shooting, plinking. But which gun is your favorite to take out and shoot just for fun or for no reason at all? In my case I usually have with me my Mod 627 Pro series for serious business and it is a great revolver. But the revolver I really just love to shoot is a 4 inch Model 1950 in 44 Special. It is just such a sweet shooting piece that I look for excuses to to take it out. So what is your favorite?

I love shooting my Winchester 9422M. It's not only a classic and well-balanced, but it's a tack driver as well. I have a Leupold 4x scope mounted on it and the little rifle is deadly. Now if only .22 magnum ammo wasn't so expensive. :)

I like my 4567 the best but since I don't especially like to chase brass the old model 10 gets the nod. Also my progress press is set up for .38 special.

Handguns? My model 681. It was issued to me thirty years ago this month.

Lately though, I've been shooting rifles more.

I prefer my AK. 7.62x39... devastating round, cheap, and easier to find than .22LR, or .223. Hell, I can pee in a dirt hole and use the mud to clean the AK if need arises. You just can't beat it.

It would be a very close tossup between my old Hi-Power &
my Model 6906. I don't know if its because they are 9mm,
as everything else I own is a 40, except for a lone 45. They do
shoot soft & they are both very accurate, even with me running
them. The Browning used to be my favorite for the feel in my
hand plus the best trigger of all my guns, but lately I gravitate
more towards the 6906, because of its lightness. I love the way
it fits my hand, too.

I have a four inch 19-2 that is a real pleasure to shoot. I really enjoy it.
For pure fun though, my Cimarron Model P with .45 black powder cartridges is tough to beat. Big boom, pleasant recoil and all that wonderful smoke. I love the smell of black powder smoke.
