Just got back from the range... It was my second trip with the SD40VE, but the first since installing the Apex spring kit. Huge, noticeable difference in pull weight... that $20 was the best $20 I've ever spent! The attached picture is my first target... 24 shots: 12 at center, and then 3 each at the corner diamonds. I'm real happy with the results, and very pleased with the apex spring kit!

I did have a couple FTFs on the third magazine, but I'm not gonna worry until I try a different ammo brand. I've only shot American Eagle through it... But I've heard that could be the problem. I'm gonna try a different brand next time... Any suggestions?

Great! Did you use all of the Apex springs or did you leave the Striker spring stock? I used all of the Apex springs but have not had a chance to get to the range yet!

I used all the springs in the kit, I run Federal 180grn, gun has been 100% I think the light strikes people complained about were while using lesser ammo.

Forgot to add this... There were a couple regulars at the range just hanging out and watching. After I finished my first couple magazines, one of the guys came over and asked what I was shooting. I told him and let him check it out, and he told me how nice it was and how well it/I was shooting. It was pretty cool to see guys like that come over and give me some props on my little $350 plinker, lol

Can you clarify FTF'S ?

Fire or Feed ?

Yea.. sorry! Although I'm not sure which it would be considered. The slide came forward, but didnt reset all the way... maybe 1/8" from fully closing. I didn't realize it and pulled the trigger, and only got a click. There were no light strikes on the primer. This happened maybe 3 or 4 times... I would just eject the bullet and it would be fine from then on out. I do believe that the same bullet gave me trouble after I re-inserted it into the magazine a couple additional times before finally firing... so I figured maybe the bullet was shaped a little funny. Sounds like a failure to feed, right?

I also was thinking maybe I need to lube it a little better... I usually only put a tiny drop on the tabs that hold the slide one, just like the manual says. Does anyone else have better lube tips? haha
