So hello guys. I am Chris. I took Friday off work to go trade in/sell a few old weapons at my not so local (30 mile drive) gun shop. Well, I got there and waited about 45 minutes before the owner came out to help me. The wait was well worth it.

I traded in a Bersa Series 95 .380, about 600 rounds of ammo, 4 magazines, and a couple carry cases, a sporterized 1891 Argentine mauser, and about 75 rounds for a brand new M&P 9 fullsize, a Serpa Holster, and 20 rounds HP ammo.

Straight trade across the board, no cash involved. Loved the deal.

I got about 75 round through it, and found the gritty trigger. That is the only thing I don't like so far. I know there are trigger jobs/kits for it, but is there a solution without replacing parts?

If you are both happy, that's all that counts. :D

Just keep shooting and it gets way better.

Get some snap caps and use those for indoor dry fire.

Yes, remove the rear sight. Take the Striker Block out. Inspect the hole that the Striker Block rides in. Ensure there is a nice clean hole with no burs in it. Reassemble.

***WARNING***
The Striker Block is held in place by the rear sight, a spring cap and a spring. When you slide the rear sight off, the spring and cap will want to launch into that black hole where all dropped parts go. So, you have been warned.

So it sounds to me like some think this will work itself out, and some say look for issues. My buddy have the m&p40, which is a couple years old, and his trigger is not gritty at all.

Ditto what MrRG says. I like my trigger a lot more now than I did in August.

The top of the trigger bar where it contacts the pin lock has very fine serrations from the stamping process. You can only see them with a magnifying glass. Polish that surface with 1000 grit paper and the trigger will be perfectly smooth. I've done it to my 3 M&P's and it worked every time.

Shooting it makes a lot of things go away. I have 9 M&P's and never done much more that shoot them. It all goes away shooting it. But you don't have to listen to me. I've only been shooting them since about 06. :D :D :D

You did clean it didn't you ?
