OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

Went to Walmart this morning to buy a few grocery items. Checked the ammunition case and saw a Winchester 555 round box of 22LR. Bought two boxes at 8:55 AM. Sometimes you just get lucky.

I am going to go to walmart at least an hour early tomorrow. I hope since they said at this walmart they stock wednesday and satuday (not receiving anything wednesday) that I get something. I imagine with it being a saturday there will be a lot of people...

Winchester M22 1000 round box. Limited stock (usually means one case of 2 thousand round boxes). Hope to be first in line tomorrow.

If not, I'm turning around and going back to bed! :D

Another app success story.
I installed the app after reading this thread the other week. Nothing in stock at any of the 3 closest stores. Still nothing a couple days later. Yesterday, I just happened to recheck and my local store listed Limited Stock for 100rnd .45acp fmj. When I arrived later that afternoon, one box was behind the glass. When I asked to buy it, the clerk left it there and pulled a hidden box from beneath the register to ring up. That's enough for my quarterly outing so I left whatever was left for you guys to find.

No 9mm or 22lr, but I'm happy. (Also, picked up some 38spl from Parabellum Research).

Second in line this morning. First guy scored 3 boxes 1000 round M22.

That left me with one.

Another 1000 rounds added to the cache! :D

I came across this thread last night. Too be honest, I never thought of Walmart selling 9mm ammo. But to my surprise, I checked the app this morning and it showed they had some in stock!
I was able to get three boxes for my new Shield that I plan on shooting this Friday at the range. Thanks for the tip on the app!

@#*%#@ WalMart!

I am completely frustrated with my local WM. I had been checking every couple hours or so today to see if any 22lr had come in. Nothing for most of the morning, then around 11:30 Bingo! Showed some Federal Lightning 50pks for $.04/rd. But I've been fooled before. This time, I called the store, gave them the product number off the app and confirmed that they had some in stock. They did! 40 boxes to be exact!:D So, I drove over toot-sweet. Before running to the back of the store to claim my 3 little boxes of gold, I made a stop at the customer service desk and had them double check on their telxon (they weren't sure how, so I told them they had to look it up under the WM item number and not the UPC code). After explaining to them how to use their equipment, It was confirmed(for a second time) that the store had 40 boxes "on hand". Awesome! So I walked my happy behind back to sporting goods to claim my well earned prize. What's this? No 22lr? It can't be.....wait maybe it just hasn't been stocked yet....calm down. So, I ask the associate in SG where I can find the elusive little buggers and he informs me that any ammo they get is IMMEDIATELY stocked in the case, and if it's not there they don't have it. "Ah Ha! My good sir! Alas. I have already confirmed with two of your fellow workers that you do, indeed, have 40 boxes on hand." I then explained my story, and explained to him how to check store inventory on his telxon.(this makes three times confirmed 40 boxes on hand) Hmm...he says.....I'll have to get to the bottom of this....he says. He asked me if I could wait while he goes to find out where the 22lr is.(all of the associates have been more than polite, mind you) So, I wait for about 15 min while he looks. When he comes back, the only answer he has is that there must have been a clerical error somewhere along the supply chain. I think someone above him told him tell me that line of @*%$. A clerical error won't make an item show up as "on hand". The only thing that will do that is scanning it into the stores inventory. They scan EVERYTHING, they are lost without UPC codes! This is the second time this has happened in just over a week! Something is going on!

Rant over.

Contact the manager of this store! Explain what happened and what time it was. Also, ask for the contact information of their Dist Manager.

I can't garuntee that it won't happen again, but it's made some big changes at severally the local WMs.

Either the associates or the managers are not stocking it, selling it to insiders or they are buying it and selling it at a proftit.

I've used the app a couple of times and got there late. Looked last night and a store 35 miles away said limited stock M22. I called at 10 last night 3 times before someone picked up the phone in sporting goods. Guy says no we're out! I asked him politely to check to check the stock room. He's gone 15 minutes and says I found it but don't know how much and won't be put out till 7 today. I said thanks hung up and set my alarm for 4:30. At 5:30 this morning I pull up a cooler and sit down in front of the register in sporting goods. Virtually no one in the store. At 6:30 another customer shows up looking for 223. Cool. At 7 another shows up don't know what he's looking for. At 7:05 the clerk comes out pushing a huge cart with 3 small boxes. One was 410, one was 30-06 and then the 22. She opens it and there's 2 bulk boxes of M22. She says who's first? I raise my hand and say I'll take those 2-M22. She says you're not going to share. I'm a little taken aback and say yes I am sharing with my wife, my son-in-law and my son. I've been sitting on this cooler while everyone else was asleep. I feel a little guilty but the early bird gets the worm right.

Thats an impressive look of the ammunition you were able to buy. Do you think that just maybe, people like you are causing the current ammunition craze shortage? I am not exactly sure why you are purchasing so much 22LR as it a sport ammo and certainly will not stop an invading North Korean! That being the case, just curious why you have to stock up so many rounds and leave others who have little if any without?
You give the item number to customer service and they will tell you if it's back there or not. If you see something "in stock" and suspect the employees or managers back there are giving you the run around, go straight to customer service! These guys take it very seriously!!! I know first hand "some" employees/stores are full of **** and we now call their bluff and guess what? 99% of the time we walk out w/ our 3 limit.

I had Arnold Walmart Management lie about checking in back and they said I was wrong and the app was wrong and to come back tomorrow for the other truck that's coming in. Well, my neighbor went there a couple hours later and saw a guy walking out w/ 3 boxes of 555 winchester that was supposedly "in stock" but was no where to be found per management. Some of these workers are holding it for their personal agendas/gains. I posted my receipts in the 15-22 thread just to PROVE to you guys you can get ammo w/ this app!!! Better yet, see below :D

*The Fed 325 and 525 was bought elsewhere. Only the Winchester 333, 555, and 9mm were purchased using the website and app. I would have bought more ONLY if I knew about this "in stock" status months ago!!! I just learned of it a few weeks ago. Now it's YOUR turn!

Good luck all!

I've downloaded the walmart.com app to my samsung.
Where do I find the local in store inventory?

...No, I'm not good at this stuff.
But I need 9mm.
Been a while since I could find any.

Click on the item you want then scroll down to - check local availability - it will show you ea store in a certain radius. You can also put in a zip code. This is on the iPhone app. Hope that helps.

Walmart had Remington UMC 250pks in 9mm and .45. I didn't buy any. My Walmart seems to have ammo now every time I go in

Just had to share that I went to my Walmart to get drano for a sink and walked by the ammo. They had just put some out. Scored some .223 and .45 auto. I don't think the guy knew about the three box limit because he told me it was only on three boxes of the same kind of ammo.

Don't know if this is happening to everyone. But there seems to be about a 3 or 4 day delay between when the app says ammo is in stock and when it gets to the store. For several days mine has been showing Winchester 555 in stock. I've been checking every other day, with no luck. Went this morning and bought 3 boxes of it.

I downloaded the app now, I chose the store nearest me and then typed in 22lr in the search bar. It had a ton of different types of ammo to choose from. I clicked on each one individually and of course it came up "out of stock". Is this the way you guys are doing this? I see no menu item for bar codes or no icon that would show number of boxes in stock.

Yeah you're doing it right. It doesn't show how many is in stock at any point in time. If it says limited stock that means anywhere from 1 to less than full case. It's usually only a couple 2 or 3 anyway. In Stock written in green letters usually is close to a full case or more.

Found out from a manager tonight how the stocking system works.
If the website or APP says its in stock or limited, this means that when they scanned the trailer to start their unloading process, the store's inventory automatically updates to reflect what the trailer manifest says is on the trailer itself.

So when it's loaded onto the trailer at the warehouse its billed onto the manifest that's sent to the store. It could (very highly unlikely and not easily achieved) be stolen at the warehouse after it's been scanned onto the trailer.

I've heard from other people who have worked at the store, that they scan everything that comes off the trailer as well. I've also heard that not all stores do this either.

So I don't think the manager I talked to was full of **** or lying, since he told me to grab the lady in sporting goods and tell her that he said to go back and get the ammo I was looking for and anything else and stock it. When I called from home to see if they had the 22lr in stock, he said its showing that we have 2 boxes so I'd come in right now if you can cause it won't be saved for you later.
