I am shocked, disgusted, and sick to my stomach...

CALL IT THE UPCHUCK

if that's the direction we should be steering our youngsters, then I am seriously worried. that is something to be steered away from and gives the truly ugly guns a bad name. there aren't enough paper bags or beer in Milwaukee to make that look good. I'll bet heads have already rolled at Mossberg over it. what's the big deal about saying they missed the mark and it is the biggest flop to come down the pike in my lifetime. go ahead and buy one if you wish, I bet you could put the gun rack back up in your truck and leave it in there with the windows down, doors open, and it wouldn't be stolen.

Zombies are nothing new. Ancient Persian word for zombies was "Ghoul". The vikings had zombies and so did practically every other ancient culture. In fact, the word "zombie" is an ancient Haitian word

I am 71 and worked as a utility lineman for 40 yrs. Was a volunteer fireman for 20 yrs. I didn't like service but stayed in long enough to get an honorable discharge. Have been shooting since I was 4. Just 1 year in bus. college. Retired and have not hit a tap for 11 years. Paid cash for my first house at 30 and live on 56 ac. but own 170 ac. about 20 miles away. Been happily married for 44 yrs. I won't get mad at you for liking zombies them if you don't get mad at for thinking it is childish. Larry

I wont get mad, but I'm just pointing out not all zombie fans are weirdos. Some of us are responsible, productive members of society.

But as far as it being childish, does that mean Sci-Fi movies are childish? Fantasy? Other horror genres? It's all just make believe entertainment. :)

Aren't zombie guns supposed to be green?
I can kinda understand what they were going for and with a little more r&d, I'm sure they could come up with something that doesn't look like it should have been put down at birth.

What's wrong with that rifle is the caliber. Threaded barrel lever action-- make it for .38 special. Load your own... put a light weight titanium can on it... pfff... a beautiful thing. ;)

This has got to be the Edsel of the firearms industry. Few will sell, Mossberg will drop the model...and 30 years from now, it will be an arcane collectible.

I don't want to be around anybody that is over 10 yrs. old that talks about zombies and I sure don't want them to have a gun. They don't need to be around anything more dangerous than a plastic spoon. Larry

And in an amusing twist, the man calling people childish posts a childish, prejudice rant against zombie fans. Sheesh!

I'm curious - does this turn your stomach equally? It also is a Frankengun mix of modern and traditional:

Turnbull TAR-40 .308 Rifle

Howdy,
Yes, one is as silly as the other.
I saw the Turnbull gun the other day and wondered "What for?"
Someone somewhere wants both of them.
Thanks
Mike

THE UPCHUCK RIFLE

hey give it to Mikey, he likes it. I doubt there will be a long line to buy them. probably come with a discount coupon to lenscrafters. I'm sure you will double your investment in no time.

This may have already been posted previously, but honestly don't have the patience to read through each post first:

1) What is the point?
2) An answer to a problem that didn't exist.
3) I actually thought this was a photoshopped hoax!

The point is that accessory rails and adjustable stocks perform a function, and that function is the same no matter what action the gun has.

If you live in an area where a semi auto removable magazine rifle is not legal to own or buy, this will give you the same ability to add lights and optics, adjust length of pull based on the gear your wearing and suppress the muzzle flash.

Do you guys make fun of the same setup on an AR? Do you make fun of an M14 in an EBR stock?

Form follows function, who gives a flying $%&* what it looks like. Which one of those components is less effective on a lever action?

I live in a free state, but if I could not own an AR or other semi auto carbine, should I just throw away my weapon light and aim point because they don't look cool on a lever action? Should I be fine with being blinded shooting at night because a flash hider looks funny if its not on a military rifle?

I heard some of the same things you guys are saying years ago the first time I saw someone put a red dot on a 1911. You know what it works.

I think you guys were the kids in middle school that made fun of other kids because they didn't wear the same clothes the cool kids were wearing.

Someone posted a picture of this monstrosity last year.
Until then i did'nt even know those things existed.
Talk about an Ugly Weapon.:eek::eek::eek:
I think the Zombie weapons, ammo, etc. and those who
buy this ilk are the same people who still live in Mommas
basement somewhere. The ones who are afraid of a
Zombie Apocalypse and buy this **** are wearing their
CCW badges on chains hanging down in front of their
"punisher" T-shirts and patrolling the local Mall. :p:p:p
Remember, if someone will buy it
then someone will make it.

Mossberg could scoop a lot of sales if they would enter the pistol caliber lever action rifle sales. I have a Rossi 1892 in .44 magnum and if Mossy made something similar in .357 then I would love to snap one up from them. If anyone else has seen Mad Ogre's "tactical lever action" then a look at that and the zombie rifle with parts from both would be all kinds of fun and practical to boot.

This has got to be the Edsel of the firearms industry. Few will sell, Mossberg will drop the model...and 30 years from now, it will be an arcane collectible.

I was thinking it was more of a Pontiac Aztec or a Nissan Juke of the gun world.

I'm sure a more elegant collapsible stock could have been designed for it. Im not against "Utility" variants of arms but that configuration in that action type has to introduce some liabilities
