Exactly.
Timber cruisers, oil hunters, precious metal prospectors, US Geo Surveyors, Forestry people, etc would have stumbled on something by now.

If they bury their dead, why don't they make stone or wood tools? Or leave behind some crude shelters? Or simply occupy caves which would protect much evidence like feces, hair, and skeletons? There would have to be a breeding population, so they could not be so rare and scattered. Where are the young, stupid juveniles that wander onto roads? Where are the fossil remains?

If Bigfoot existed, the greys would have abducted and probed one by now, and they have not mentioned that to me.

It is completely pointless to argue reason with the true believers, they exist with the theory, since you cant find it, you cant prove it doesn't exist, instead of thinking it doesn't exist until proven real,
seriously we can dig up Skeletons and remains from dinosaurs that have been extinct for millions of years, yet can't find one stinking bigfoot that is supposedly still running around in the woods today.

That, alas, is a very real possibility. Only a fool would try a hoax like that. He might be trying to scare some friends or make a bogus video, and someone he didn't expect to come along will shoot him. I'm surprised it hasn't happened.

I have seen the new program 'Mountain Monsters' it is a group of men from West Virginia and they are always hunting something and they must find it because they are always shooting at it but it gets away.

If some idiot decides to play games in a monkey suit and comes at me his soul belongs to God and his butt belongs to me. It would be a very dumb thing to do. My 338wm has 4,000 ft. lbs. at the muzzle and 2,700 ft. lbs. @ 200 yards that's the muzzle energy
of a 30-06. Trust me it wouldn't be a pretty outcome. That idiot would wet his pants first.

Even my neighbors in vt told me my camp is no place for pranks at night with the fire power we have. Living in the heart of bear country were always aware of what's going on. My neighbors wanted to prank us at night but there afraid too.

These blood curtling screams I hear will stop you in your tracks and make your hair stand up on your neck. This thing has to have monster sized lungs to sound like that. I been in situations within 10' from black bears in the 6' grass and not be that upset.

My camp door is made from three layers of 3/4" plywood screwed and glued together. I figure it's bear proof to some extent. On trip up there in October to run up a load of firewood for hunting season while making my bacon cheeseburgers we had a visit. I keep my 44mag near my dining table in the upper bunk within arms reach. When it screamed my oldest son stopped eating and froze and said what's that? To calm him down I showed him my 44 and said what ever it is if it comes thru that door it's going to see God. It was quiet for the rest of the night. I would love to see it just once.

During the daytime on my land I feel in constantly being watched. One other thing that always happens to us is when we go for hikes or walks down the forest access road something follows us from up on the mountain top above us. No matter what time it is if is daylight or at 12am we can hear branches breaking as it walks parallel with us. During the day if I'm hunting I open the bolt and pull it back on my rifle and put my scope on its highest power and scan the whole upper mountainside. I never see anything. Like I said before the hunters have to go by us to get into the national forest. Most of the time were alone except for a road hunter in a truck during the day who passes in and out. But that's very seldom. During
the daytime not to make my kids impervious I carry my 357mag snubbie with my stout magnum loads when were outside on my land hiking. Bb

For myself, I'm fine if Bigfoot exists, I'm fine if they don't. All I know is I'm not looking for him, & I sure as heck hope he isn't looking for me!

During the cooking time I open all the roof vents to get the smell out. I found out I can smell my wood stove smoke up and over the top of my mountain and down into the valley below for many miles. I figure the smell of us cooking goes that far if the wind is in the right direction too.

I'm not sure what it is but all the signs point to a bigfoot. The tracks, the screams?

That being said, my father certainly has a story to tell about what he thinks may well have been a "bigfoot" or whatever name you have for it. I don't doubt his story for a second, but until someone can scientifically prove the existence of such creatures, I must err on the side of skepticism as to what he actually experienced.

About bigfoot being elusive. About 1989 I'm going to guess we
we're about 3 miles up in the national forest on a jeep trail off the access road. I been up there many times before bear hunting. We were following a sows tracks when we spotted the cubs tracks zig zaging the sows tracks tracks in the snow. Then we spotted very large cat tracks following the bears tracks. I told my brother those are mountainlion tracks. I had a disposable camera in my pocket. I put my brothers pack of cigarettes next to the track so a size relationship can be determined. I sent the pic to a student in a tracking school in mass. It was confirmed its a mountainlion. Now about being elusive. We never had a chance to see one until about a decade later. I figure there very elusive but they were in the upper elevations but as they multiply there venturing into the lower elevations now. As we left my neighbors house one night st 9pm after having a dinner there we seen the body and the large curly tail heading into the tall grass. The next day after eating breakfast while gassing up the dirtbikes we heard the growls from the ridge above my camp. After that encounter we never heard or seen it again. A mountainlion will stalk you from behind. It doesn't walk with you parallel. Any predator stalks from behind. I figure if the mountainlions are that elusive why not bigfoot too?

We were flying down the access roads one day with my son in the lead on our dirtbikes. When we stopped he told me he seen something very large, tall and a reddish color thru the for me of his eye going away from us in the green blur. When your flying thru the woods on a bike every tree and Bush greenery becomes a green blur. I guess the reddish thing he saw was between the green blur and us.

I talked with a gal in Vermont and told her all of my experiences and encounters with something unknown to us. We emailed for quite sometime back and forth. She told everything yo her dad who is a hunting guide in vt that I didn't know about. He said only one word, bigfoot. That's it and he wouldn't say about any of his experiences while guiding hunts for most of his life.

My camp/land is far away from my neighbors property. What happens to me doesn't happen to them. I'm truly in the wilds. My neighbor to the north east is on the other side of the valley. My other neighbor to the south west is about over a half mile away. I seem to get all the action at night being away from everyone.

BigBill, that sounds like a Bigfoot to me. I saw a show where the owner of a remote cabin put out a doormat before he leaves. This doormat is a piece of plywood with 1 1/2 inch screws drilled through it. It is placed with the points up. It is used to keep bears away. When he went to check on it one trip, it had blood in the shape of a large foot on it. You might want to make something like that to put down in front of your door. Have you thought about putting up cameras around your cabin. They have the really nice ones that broadcast to an internet account while you are gone. You can watch your camp in real time from your house using the internet. I know that I would have my head on a swivel every time I was outside. BTW- I have a 338 BAR and I don't blame you for carrying that up there. That gun should stop anything you encounter up there.

I took a class while in college at Washington State University from a professor by the name of Dr. Grover Krantz. He was a professor of anthropology (my minor) and specialized in Bigfoot (Sasquatch per the natives). Anyway, he was kind of kooky, and the class was fascinating and quite frankly rather compelling. One of the points he made is that the Doug Fir forests of Western Washington and Oregon are so dense, that frequently when a small plane goes down they never find the wreckage. How could you expect to find an intelligent hominid that doesn't want to be found. I also had a co-worker who SWEARS he saw what he figured to be a mother and youth Bigfoot crossing the highway between Medford and Klamath falls. He said they stopped momentarily, looking toward him then high tailed it into the woods. He was convinced. That being said, I will quote Christopher Hitchens saying "that which can be asserted without proof, can be dismissed without proof". It sure makes for fun postulating though!

I saw this too, they sent the blood and tissue from the screws to a lab to have it analyzed. They could not determine what it was due to the samples being to degraded. They said that the galvinized screws messed up the samples. Also the samples set out in the elements for a long time.

BigBill, if you do this I suggest not using galvinized screws.

I must get into this thread. Attached is a photo I got last summer on my game camera. The picture was totally black until I used the fix button to raise the brightness almost all the way. I have seen many gillie suits, but most are 2 piece. In fact, after seeing this photo, I looked up as man suits as I could to try to find one like it. I do see what appears to be a belt on the subject, but the hair does flow all the way to the ground. No flashlight is being used or it would have shown up on the original photo. This is not something I made up for fun. If you guys/gals have any suggestions, go ahead. Not a bigfoot I'm sure, but what else. I would think the hair was brown or black since it took so much brightness to bring it up. Sorry, I don't know the time since I didn't set it. I just wanted to see the deer passing by at the creek behind the house. No, I haven't put the camera back...don't want to know anymore..haha.

Because of the belt, it looks to me like a man in a ghillie suit, perhaps home made. Probably a hunter doing some scouting.

Along similar lines Google Mothman. This was a sighting and many strange events in West Virginia in the 1960's. I don't have an opinion on it's accuracy but there are some very interesting stories that will come up.
